1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / gocco on: November 29, 2005 10:02:48 AM
Has anyone done any printing with a Gocco printer?  I'm considering buying one to do my wedding invitations.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / embroidery kit on: November 29, 2004 12:29:48 PM
my dad wants to know what i want for christmas other than money, so i am going to tell him that i want an embroidery start-up kit.

what was the name of that website with the woman whose designs were being stolen?  she has a really cool site and i want my dad to get me her start-up kit, but i can't think of the site for the life of me!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / crackle paint? on: May 01, 2004 09:59:50 AM
i'm super cautious about starting projects i've never done (i.e. i have disgusting perfectionist tendencies), which is the reason i ask so many questions! (i researched different methods for bread-making for weeks before i tried it and now i just wing it everytime i make it!)

here's my question/dilemma:

i'm going to paint my radiator in my room to match by bed spread.  i'd like to paint it a rusty red with a golden yellow crackle/marble look.

how do i go about doing this? i've thought about lightly sponging on the gold after painting it red, but i would rather to that crackly look.

advice?
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / felted scarf on: March 26, 2004 01:32:15 PM
i have a beautiful scarf that i accidently felted by throwing in the wash (and dryer!) with my laundry.  so now, it's all shrunken and impossible to wear.

any ideas on what i could do with it?
5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / beer can cozies on: March 10, 2004 12:52:31 PM
my dad is a working class, southern, beer-drinking man.  so for his birthday, i have decided to make him a few personalized beer can/bottle cozies.

what should i use to make these?  i could knit them, but i kind of want to make them with something foamy?
any ideas?
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / initials? stripes? tassles? on: March 10, 2004 10:16:27 AM
i just recently taught myself to knit.  i've been working on a scarf for my boyfriend, but have had to start it over three times.  i have some questions:

1. what would be the best way for me to put initials on the end of the scarf?

2. how do i keep the striped scarf i'm knitting to keep from getting a stray line before the stripe starts?  is it inevitable? if so, how can i keep it on one side of the scarf?

3.  how do you make tassles?

4.  are cables tough to knit?
