571  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: What has 12 colours, 54 stripes and 591 rows? on: January 23, 2006 05:45:35 AM
Wow, that looks great.  I usually don't like multi-coloured knitting, but yours looks fabulous...I esp like the varied widths of colour.  Great job!
572  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Celtic Knot Scarf on: January 23, 2006 05:41:52 AM
Wow, these scarves are so beautiful!  I love how the cable goes all the way along.  I tried my first cable on a scarf for my hubby, but I chickened out and only used the cables as embelishment across the bottom.  The cables turned out fabulous, but the rest of the scarf became the dreaded sausage beast since I still haven't found a way to get stockinette scarves to lied flat (even with a garter stitch edging).  Maybe I'll try blocking it and post a photo.  Embarrassed
573  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! on: January 22, 2006 10:56:18 AM
Well, I guess that I'm one of the older and crustier of this lot (at 33 GASP!)  But, back in the day I had a gamut of colours (blue, green, red, purple) and various styles involving lots of shaving.  I've stuck with a black Betty Page reaching to my waist for the last OMG years since it was easier with the kids running around, and I have to admit, I was really attached to the long hair.  I've been dying (haha) for a change for a long time, but I'm worried that if I shave the uber-long mohawk back in and dye it red or pink or get super long dreads, I'll look like an old loser trying to be 19 again.  But I don't want to submit to the "Suburban housewife symdrome" and I firmly believe that if I have cool hair that I love, I don't have to spend a fortune on clothes.  the hair makes the WOMAN!  Any thoughts on my conundrum?
