Esther you've outdone yourself this week. You already know I like the Tencel and Loop yarns and all the corespuns are pretty, but the first one is absolutely gorgeous. Shiny locks and blue green, sigh.
Belladune is that going to be you new years resolution: Spin more yarn!? Spinning by candle light sounds so romantic... Even though the reason wasn't.
yberry - Welcome! I like the silk hankies one best. I don't think I would ply it with anything though. It's pretty as it is.
Jenna - I spin my plied yarns from handpainted roving, patchwork or from batts, depending what look I'm after. The ones from this week are all from handpainted roving (top to be precise) though. Love your coiled yarn. Super coils just seem to 'eat' yardage. Size 35 needles?! How long did it take you to knit the scarf with them?
Happy Fiber Friday everybody! I just got the news that my application was accepted and I'll be at my first ever craft show in June 2009! So excited, so much to plan and spin. And spinning I did, I've done a lot of plying lately.
Murano - 123 yards handdyed Falkland wool
Belle - 123 yards handdyed Falkland wool
Belle II (slightly darker) - 97 yards handdyed Falkland wool
geekycraftgrl - love the new yarn and great to see handspun FOs krafty_kelly - Thanks! How about Cosy's old shale smoke ring pattern? http://cosymakes.wordpress.com/ (on the right side under patterns) noodle princess - smokey amethyst is beautiful
I like the subtle colour variation in the plied yarns you all went for this week. Like Jane Doe's last one, krafty_kelly's and kathleenalice's first. I have 3 this week (still need to take photos of the rest)
Embers - 48 yards, Romney lamb and Border Leicester wool spun straight from the lock and wrapped in black lurex thread
It's Friday again already! Sunset Lagoon is great! And Jazzturtle's corespun Roses and Autumn coils are amazing! Love the beginning of the silk crochet scarf too. And luxx - yes, Jazzturtle's Waterlillies yarn is spun from the Monet batts.
I have been spinning lots last week.
