222  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Re:I WANNA SILKSCREEN! on: September 23, 2003 10:23:08 PM
use a paint brush to apply the screen filler [be VERY careful!! this stuff doesnt come out.. of the screen, your clothes, etc... its very permanent!]

i do believe that you can get screen filler off the screen. just use a bit of clorox or windex, leave it on for a while and scrub at it with an old toothbrush, and then put it under some hot water (i use my bathtub).

i like your prints! i've only done one, just to test the screen out, it was of bob sagat!

my question is:
the paint has sort of stained the screen, and there is a dark grey area around the stencil. i've washed it and washed it ith no luck. i just want to make sure that this will not affect my print the next time i use the screen. i don't think so...
223  CANADA / British Columbia / Vancouver - Yarn Stores on: September 19, 2003 06:26:00 PM
Since I have taken up knitting last year, I've been buying all my yarn for stores like Zellers etc. I'm interested in going to a nice yard store and buying some really beautiful thick chunky yarn, and admiring everything. Where in and around Vancouver are your favourite stores? Any places to get good deals?

Thanks for the link! I have been in there before and I was thinking about it the other day, but I couldn't remember what it was called, or where it was!
225  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: pouches! on: September 02, 2003 05:11:19 PM
Thanks for all your help, I hope to try sell some, but we'll see! Thankyou for you offer Lauri, but I think I would prefer to sell them in canada, because of the exchange rate..!

Do you have any tried-and-true steps for a zipper? I've attempted zippered pouches about a million times and keep screwing up on the ends (I end up with gaps on either side, it's weird).

I'm not really sure I can tell you to prevent the gaps, just make sure your seam next to the zipper just goes all the way to the end...Huh?!

227  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Lip Balm on: August 28, 2003 09:24:30 AM
Has anyone come across a good recipe for a yummy lip balm? I'm interested in trying something out, but I don't want to go and buy a whole bunch of supplies.
228  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / (more!) pouches! on: August 28, 2003 09:34:10 AM
I've been sewing a lot of little pouches lately, here are some pictures! (I just had to scan them in, as my digital camera battery is dead!)

The fabric looks really gross in this photo, but it doesn't really look like that! I attached a piece of elastic cording, to make it into a little purse, perfect for a night on the town.

I have a question now, I've been sewing too many of these, more than I need. If I tried to sell them at a craft fair or even made a website to sell other things, do you think people would buy them?
Thanks!!
