21  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Knitty's Monkey-along? on: May 16, 2007 03:59:24 PM
They are lovely - what yarn/needles did you use?

Thanks!

I used Knitpicks 2.5mm (US 1) Circs using Magic Loop and handdyed yarn from Live 2 Knit (two skeins of Elizabeth Superwash Merino in colourway Damask).
Thank you for that - I'm a tech spec geek when it comes to yarn!

That green is just gorgeous!

Here are my finished Monkey socks!

They are lovely - what yarn/needles did you use?

Unbelievable cool!

I'm sending this to my brother, he loves the show.

I hope he doesn't ask for them because I can barely crochet!
25  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Dotty nature travel tote shoulder bag on: April 16, 2007 03:52:57 AM
Thanks everyone!  It survived a 5 day trip to the Highlands of Scotland too, so I must have done something right!
Plus, no one asked me "Did you make that yourself?" - in that aren't-you-special voice.  Grin
26  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Forecast KAL (Knitty 2005) on: March 31, 2007 01:32:50 PM
Has anyone seen this on a erm... substantial woman?  I'm about a UK size 18 (I think that's a US 14 or 16) and I really like the idea of this cardigan, but I'd like to see it on someone of about my size first!

I did search, but it seems that only the slimmer gals have tried it.

I'll watch this KAL with interest.
27  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: 3-Hour Sweater Knitalong: dare we hope? on: March 31, 2007 01:29:42 PM
Here I come, limping across the finish line. Everyone's sweaters are so lovely. They've really kept me going. This is my first ever sweater, which I finally finished last week, 3 months after I started  Grin
Very well done - and great job on your first sweater.  3 months seems about right, too!

Where did you find the fabric?  Please say it was an online store.  ;-)

Sorry - It's one of the few occasions I actually bought fabric from a bricks 'n' mortar shop!

I was on sale (an insane price) so I doubt they've got any left.

Truely stunning - well done!  Shocked

Actually made from an actual pattern!

The pattern is Burda from an old Zig Zag magazine.

I put in a front zip pocket using instructions from a sewing book and a patch pocket inside.
