11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Well I am Harry Potter Ready *take a look* on: July 11, 2007 07:18:23 AM
That is such a cool top! I wish I could crochet like that! (I also wish I could get away with wearing stuff like that.) Fantastic job (and thanks for sharing the chart, as well)!
12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: I made a house elf hat =) on: July 11, 2007 07:16:12 AM
I don't know much about crochet, but I know this: I love your hat! The ears are an excellent touch, as well.
13  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: Anyone else having a seizure???? on: July 09, 2007 07:12:53 AM
Get Mozilla Firefox and Adblock then right click and hit Adblock image and it'll never bother you again.

I usually delete the Adblock address right down to www.whatever.com/ads/ then put a * at the end and it bans ALL ads from that address on every page you visit. Useful for those loud irritating flashy mosquito buzzing flash type ads all over the net!

I have an add-on with Firefox called FlashBlock. I find it very helpful for flash ads and YouTube movies that try to take 9 billion years to load. And bonus: you can always hit the play button in the middle if it's something you want to see, like a website entirely of flash.

Not that that was crafty advice or anything ... Cheesy
14  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Harry Potter Craftalong!!! on: July 06, 2007 12:57:36 PM
That's a sweet DA shirt! I'd totally wear one like that!

I was still wanting to make myself a pair of radish earings to with the t-shirt.  Cheesy  I also have a design made up for a Dumbledore's army t-shirt for DS.

I'm planning on making radish earrings as well. And I got some metallic polymer clay from a swap so's I can make some galleons, sickles and knuts.

Oh, by the way, I think I'm going to join in on the fun! I'm making some Ravenclaw socks right now, from a pattern called Eagle's Flight that I found online. I figured an eagle would be appropriate. Cheesy

I just saw this post ... but it's a few days old. I might be able to help with your seizures. If you have a particularly flashy ad or avatar on a page, you can always hit the ESC button. It freezes animations. (Even the animation in the little marquee button here on the post reply page.)

Thought you might like the tip. It helps me sometimes.
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ravelry! Extra invites... on: July 05, 2007 06:37:22 AM
I put my name in during camp, I'm pretty sure. That was the middle two weeks of June, so it can't have been much earlier than that. I think.

(I'll have you know that at work, I have the sort of job that's similar but not exactly the same every week, so sometimes I forget when things happen. I work at a weekly newspaper doing a bunch of fiddly bits. Of course, the bonus to the mundane is that I get to hang out on Craftster a lot.  Like now.)

I put my name in the queue probably three weeks ago ... and I got an invite this morning! I was surprised.

If anyone needs friends ... xamonster is my name!

19  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Small Balls Yarn Swap (Sign-ups May 23 to May 30; Send June 7) on: May 23, 2007 02:12:49 PM
xamonster -- you need someone who can either send earlier or who doesn't mind waiting for feedback.   Depending on your yarn/color preferences, I would be fine doing either.  I'll PM you.

I just talked with Cookies over PM, and we might be able to swing a personal swap, then catch another round. (This one is sure to be popular, I think, especially with all the recent interest in Rapunzel scarves!)

Hooray!

I really want to sign up!

But I wonder, would there be someone who would want to send just a smidge earlier? I'm leaving town on June 8 and will be gone for 2 1/2 weeks, away from both my mail and regular computer use (though I suppose I could swing it during art class).

Either that, or I'll just chill and hope for round two .... Cheesy
