21  Hooray for Xmas stashbusting! X-stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by miyoko79 on: November 25, 2006 03:17:49 PM

I started this for Christmas last year, but couldn't finish in time - it looked like a quick and easy pattern, but darned if those snowflakes didn't take half an hour apiece!  It's completely made of supplies from my stash (green fabric, white and metallic gold floss), even the frame!  So now it's done and going to my very nice great-aunt. 22  2 mittens that almost match... in Knitting: Completed Projects by miyoko79 on: November 24, 2006 07:47:47 PM

They're knit in Lion Brand Homespun from my stash.  The first mitten came out much looser than the second, but I think they're close enough!  They're for my cousin's 6-year-old for Christmas.

23  Mini One Skein Scarf in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by miyoko79 on: November 24, 2006 07:45:32 PM
In Lion Brand Homespun from my stash, made with a P hook (it worked up so fast!)  It's slightly altered - it's just impossible for me to do a starting chain in Homespun and then figure out where the stitches are, so I think I double-chained it, then did 2 rows of dc, then added the edging.  It's for my cousin's 4-year-old, so it's only about 42 inches.  Hooray for small people - their projects are quick and easy! 24  Wedding gift - x-stitch in a double picture frame in Needlework: Completed Projects by miyoko79 on: July 05, 2006 07:12:10 PM
Nothing fancy, just adapted a pattern I already had:

They can put a wedding photo on the left side.

25  Half knit, half crochet poncho in Crochet: Completed Projects by miyoko79 on: July 05, 2006 07:08:19 PM
From last fall's Family Circle Easy crochet:

I apparently crochet waaaaay too tightly - I had to buy an extra ball of yarn (Paton's Divine) to finish, and it's not as drapey as the one in the magazine, but I like it anyway!

26  Fat Bottom Bag - white w/ bamboo handles in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by miyoko79 on: April 27, 2006 12:22:39 PM
It looks a little odd because the handles are 7 inches.  I increased the number of stitches and rows, but not enough.  I still love it, though!  It's made out of plain old Red Heart Super Saver, because I'm taking it to Vegas and wanted it to be a) stiff enough not to need lining, and b) washable if I set it on something Smiley

Here's a pic with the shoes I made it to match:

The snap i added to the inside:

27  My $350 to $3.50 earrings in Beads: Completed Projects by miyoko79 on: February 12, 2006 08:42:24 AM
I saw these in Lucky magazine, they cost $359 at modernadornments.co m:

So I made these!

(Sorry for the blurry pics, my camera doesn't want to focus on them.)  The originals are 18K gold with mint quartz, whereas mine are 14 K gold-filled with swarovski crystals, but I like 'em!  I made them yesterday to wear to an event last night, and was quite happy with the results.

I did this for the firefly/serenity swap - my first freehand cross stitch! Smiley

29  Re: firefly/serenity swap in The Swap Gallery by miyoko79 on: January 23, 2006 05:35:41 PM
We were leaving the house on Saturday, when we found this in our mailbox!

I had to wait all day to get home and open it!  Here's what was inside, courtesy of Trifarina, whose crafting skills I bow down to:

* A fabulous Blue Sun T-shirt (it's so soft, it's my new nightie!)
* A silk scarf (it's embroidered on both ends, but I wanted the darker back side to show)
* An AMAZING embroidered purse.  Trifarina, you are the purse-making queen!  The purse itself is so well made, and the Blue Sun logo is just perfect.
* A palm tree and stegosaurus, tied together with a note that says, "WASH IS MY COPILOT".  Tee hee!

Thank you thank you thank you!!!  The toys are on the windowsill over my craft table (my "dashboard"), and I can't wait for nicer weather to wear the purse and scarf!

P.S. What do the characters on the scarf mean?

30  Necklace and earring binge! Img heavy! in Beads: Completed Projects by miyoko79 on: January 17, 2006 08:17:35 PM
I kind of went crazy this weekend...

This is what I get for making necklaces while watching Pride and Prejudice...I think it's kind of Jane Bennett-y.

Green glass beads, 14K gold-plated findings, and a chain my husband bought for me a few years ago.

I had these beads for a while, and was happily inspired by PinkyK's coral and turquoise necklace Smiley

Can't wait for spring so I can wear this one!

The silver spacers have a sun on one side, and a moon and stars on the other.

They're all about 18 inches including the clasps.
