1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Last Minute Knitted Gifts Help!!! on: December 05, 2006 01:10:59 PM
I'm knitting into it.  I'm perplexed.  I guess I'll mess with it again tonight and see where I end up.

Thanks!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Last Minute Knitted Gifts Help!!! on: December 05, 2006 12:27:10 PM
Apparently, I've taken a stupid pill today or something but I'm having a hard time with a very simple pattern.  Any help would be appreciated!

I'm working on the Children's Cotton Hat pattern and I'm having trouble with the eyelet row.  Pattern says k4 (2,4), *yo, k2tog, k2; repeat from * to end.  I did that (or at least I thought I did) and the yo isn't creating an eyelet.  I'm getting a lone strand of yarn every row in the same spot were the yo is happening.  What am I missing?

Thanks!

thanks and sorry if this is off-topic.  i didn't know where else to post.

i haven't lived in gainesville in a few years (spent 21years there), but there used to be a great yarn store in a little strip center on the corner of nw 13th avenue and nw 16th avenue.  can't remember the name of it, but there is also a tennis shop and an education kids store in the same plaza.  the ladies there are great.

i second the other poster's suggestions of devil's millhopper, tubing, and payne's prairie.  i would also add going to micanopy and high springs.  high springs has a couple of great restaurants and local artist galleries/workshops. it's also on the way to ginnie springs and blue spring.  micanopy has great antique stores and wonderful food.

8  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: stitch n' bitch felted marsupial tote on: June 24, 2004 01:40:15 PM
the first tote i made the pouch and cord became super stretched out during the felting process.  the last two times i have put the assembled tote into a lingerie bag and they turned out perfect.  you can usually find the bags in the hangers/ironing boards/etc section of target (wal-mart).

just thought i'd pass that along.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Newbie embroidery questions???? on: June 17, 2004 06:26:40 AM
Im new to embroidery and have a few questions..

Im having trouble with the filling in part.  Does anyone have any helpful advice?  It looks a bit choppy, rather than neat and smooth.  Is this just an experience thing?

Im also wondering if anyone knows of a transfer pencil hat would work on black fabric?  The only ones Ive seen were brownish.  I bough a bunch of patterns from Sublime Stitching and wanted to do a few black shirts, but I dont know how to transfer a pattern to dark material.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Kate
