ha! i think EVERYONE has that owl trivet! there must be millions of them out there! i started searching for images for the owl, and saw a whole bunch of them in google image search and was like, wait a minute...
i'm so excited that they're arriving so fast, and that everyone likes them! i think i'm going to make more of them....
i can't post a pic of the deer pendant until more people have received cause it's in a group shot, but yes, it was SO HARD to get a decent picture of it!
here's your birdie though -
crafty gurlll, the birdie is on leather from the hem of a very dark brown jacket. jenicat, i think yours was from a purse. alwaysinspired, yours was from an actual hide that someone gave me (ie, not recycled from an article of clothing). the craftster skulls are all on leather from a pencil skirt (cute, but TINY!).
i think it's cool to now where it came from before, i don't know if you guys care or not!
everyone has made such amazing ATCs for this swap, i'm totally blown away!
mixtapes were SO a major thing in my teenage years! and it is totally funny, kids won't have an idea! i made a bib with a mixtape on it in december and then realized that the 1yr old is never going to experience them!
i got an awesome felt embroidered ATC from sheepblue too! isn't it gorgeous? i love all details, it must have been so much work! the butterfly wings are amazing. those are french knots around the outer wings!
and i received a gorgeous ATC from sajona called the strange sea creature series "Spikefoot"! i too had problems photographing it, i tried scanning it too, but it washed out really badly. the background fabric is so beautiful, did you dye it yourself sajona? your free hand machine embroidery is amazing!
thanks so much both of you, as well as everyone else who's been sending such amazing cards. i need to step up my game, my partners were all incredible!
i'm so late posting my awesome house from loves2experiment!
so cool, i love the different designs and how much detail you put into it, even the circles are inked around the edges! the sentiment on the roof is awesome, i need that reminder some days! thank you!
and the back, with the awesome tree swing! i have a bit of a thing for tree images like this, so it's perfect!
thank you so much!
poor loves2experiment is having computer problems (i so sympathize! poor you!), so i said i'd post a picture of the chunky house i sent her. golden molding paste used with punchinella for the bottom various ephemera including vintage cardboard bingo chip. dry brushed with golden interference blue. i'm so glad you liked it!
also, fyi, i saw the golden micaseous iron oxide at micheals last week! i know aroze was looking for it, just in case anyone else was too!
I think a little piece of the left side tore off (it was in the package) but I don't think it detracts at all from the overall look!
Is the medallion at the made of the molding paste as well, or is it a separate piece you added on?
I've been looking locally for that iron oxide paint, but no one has it. I'm going to have to breakdown and buy some online.
the medallion is metal, glued on and then painted over a bit.
could you get someone to order the paint in for you? my local art store orders stuff in for me all the time, though she had this in stock for the workshop this time. i love it cause i'm too broke to afford the sheets of mica!
parisgirl, i'm glad you like it! that's a layer of kroma cackle over gesso, then a wash of pthalo green and then a layer of the golden interference green. (the interference paints are also VERY cool! i'm really loving golden lately!) i'm glad the clay piece made it safe! that's an old clip on earring that i fell in love with! and yeah, loves2experiment is right, the paint-free side is the back!
and i'm glad you like yours too lunakitten! i love the wallpaper i used on that one, it's got great texture. here's a clearer picture -
knickertwist, the ouija house is amazing! i love it!
playswithneedles, um, wow! i love how that house is pulled together, every detail is perfect for it! the repetition of shapes is very cool.
phizzy, could you just stop being so amazing, even just for a little while? it's getting a little bit ridiculous! i love the houses you've done for this round, but i love everything that you do, so that was expected!
lmcbride, such a cute house! i love how the accents pop, the 3D windows and such. very cool. i love how you did the look of shingles, i planned to do that this round, cause i love how it looks, but i got carried away!
karin, sooo beautiful! i love the colour scheme, even though i usually love brights, it's just so serene and lovely! i like the roof line, how it's got the gable (is that what that's called?), and the heart accents are so pretty. what's the round thing on the right hand side, next to the pudgy little bird?
i've received two gorgeous houses! i'm sorry they took a little while to get posted, i love them both!
from a-roze, an amazingly pretty little house, complete with bird and sparkles in the paper- so lovely! i adore the shape around the bird!
and from lunakitten, the sweetest little nature themed house! i love the nest and the stamp, and whirlythingy! (does anyone know what they're really called, other than "helicopter wings"? ) the back is fabulous too!
i'm so behind on posting the amazing pendants i've received, i'm so sorry! i've been feeling super-duper crappy lately, thank you so much to my partners for their patience! i love them all, it's too hard to decide which one to wear all day!
from Eloise24, these amazing hand drawn pendants! they're so gorgeous, i LOVE the eye!
from crafty gurll, these gorgeous clay pendants. the left one didn't photograph nearly as cool as it is in real life, and the right is amazing, one of my favourite pendant shapes, with the perfect word written in it!
from kevsbabe, these two fabulous pendants! i love the outer circle shape and the pattern on the pendant on the left, and the wire wrapped one is awesome! i love the blue wire with the clear stone, it really pops!
and last but definitely not least, my amazing pendant from always inspired! i have to admit that this one won't be going around my neck, it'll be hanging on display! i'm terrified of wrecking it! even the back is awesome!
thank you so so much everyone! i love them all, they're perfect!
and now, on a swapper note , here's the AMAZING card i received from audio-astrophysics!!
audio stalked me a bit and discovered my love/obsession with all things mary and the lady of guadalupe, and sent me an embroidered lady card! it's super awesome, and in an added bit of stalker goodness (i can't believe i just wrote stalker goodness, what a strange combo - only on craftster!! ), she embroidered it on coloured leopard print, another favourite of mine! i love the beads too, they add a great ray around her.
