1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / candle makers out there? free stuff! on: May 01, 2008 09:48:20 AM
(sorry if this isn't the right topic, but there must be some candlemakers out here somewhere!)

i am moving and am determined to get rid of half my stuff.  i have a box of wax - most of it clear/uncolored, some colored, some wick supplies as well.

if you live in the st. paul/minneapolis area and are willing to come get this box (i live in st. paul (highland)), it is yours for free - the first one to PM me gets it.

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / UPDATE: FABRIC GONE! free fabric to good home (st. paul, minnesota area) on: April 17, 2008 10:19:47 AM
hi quilters!

i'm a former sewer, now a knitter (sorry!) and i have quite a bit of fabric i just have to get rid of, to a good home.  i am moving out of state and i have vowed to decrease the amount of stuff i take.  i live in st. paul, minnesota, and would love to meet up with someone.  these are mostly decent sized pieces of fabrics, some are scraps, some are full pieces i bought and never used.  mostly cottons, i think, probably most good for quilting.

anyway, message me, this will be a "who contacts me first" thing.

thanks!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / "Knitting With Balls" errors? on: November 05, 2006 06:52:28 PM
anyone found out any info about errors in the new book "Knitting With Balls"??  a friend of mine is trying to make the cabled socks and having a bitch of a time.  several accomplished knitters have looked at the pattern and we can't figure out the problem.

any suggestions?

thanks!!

i'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my copy of "unexpected knitting" by debbie new because i really want to try free form knitting.  has anyone done this?  any tips?  or other books/websites you'd recommend?

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / rowan denim? (or substitute) on: June 01, 2006 05:44:27 PM

is there anything kinda like this yarn but cheaper??  Grin
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / i'm in love with felted moebius baskets on: May 26, 2006 02:08:32 PM
my latest obsession, really quick and fun to do (i just did a marathon of two big sweaters in a row, so i needed some instant gratification!)

the pattern is from Cat Bordhi's Second Treasury of Magical Knitting, and after my first two, i'm having fun playing with different sizes and shapes and altering a few things here and there, adding novelty yarns and such.

anyway i had to show off my new babies! (pre-felting and post-felting)

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / i-cord maker on: May 01, 2006 11:45:56 AM
maybe someone's been more successful than i have ...

i am looking for an i-cord machine that is of decent quality AND can handle yarn that is heavier than sock weight.  so far the only one i've found is made just for a finer gauge ... i want to work with worsted!

thanks!!
10  KNITTING / Knitalongs / knitty's "jardin anglais" KAL on: April 19, 2006 02:24:04 PM
as soon as i finish my IK's sunrise circle jacket, i'm going to start knitty's "jardin anglais"  except i'm going to make it in cotton as i want to wear it this spring/summer and i'm just finishing this jacket in wool.

http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATTjardinanglais.html

if anyone wants to knit along OR if anyone knows of an existing KAL ... let me know!
