black and yellow somehow reminds me of barrier tape Wink
433  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / my new project - a coat - What color would you use? on: October 28, 2005 10:38:06 AM
my next sewing project is going to be a coat.

I don't have a pattern yet, but I think I'm going to make it myself or alter one I have.

I want it to be  black, knee-length and with a hood.

And I thought I could use different-colored lining.
Maybe bright blue.
One could see it all the time in the hood.

Do you think that would look good at all?
What color would you use?
434  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: Shoes? on: October 28, 2005 10:16:31 AM
Those shoes are great!!

Here's my idea:

You could use iheartohmy's tute http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=35344.0
and make the shoes all by yourself.
I think it's easier than decorating a pair you bought.
You could decorate the fabric before sewing it together. I.e. with iron-on transfers.
435  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / gift for my dad - need ideas!! on: October 28, 2005 09:55:58 AM

I need a gift for my dad and I definitely want to make it myself.
I thought of bookends or something like that.
He reads a lot.

I couldn't find anything so far.
Do you have any ideas or links?

You both look gorgeous! Did you use a pattern? Oh &, I LOVE ORANGE!

Yes, I used patterns from BURDA-magazines.

I usually dont wear orange but my husband got the tie first and I decided to give it a try.
I'm pretty happy with it now Wink
437  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Wedding Outfit on: September 14, 2005 01:23:41 AM
I needed an informal outfit for my wedding and wanted to wear something other than a plain white dress.

And I wanted to sew it myself Cheesy

hope you like it!
438  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / a purse for my wedding on: September 06, 2005 07:19:49 AM
I made this purse for my wedding next saturday:

I drafted the pattern myself. I could use the leftovers of the fabrics that I used for the skirt and the jacket.
So my wedding outfit is almost completely handmade.  Smiley
Hope you like it!
