WHAT A GALLERY!

The choker is here to be celebrated, adorned and enjoyed. The necklace has hugged the limelight for far too long, because it is ...far, far too long. The choker is here to look beautiful AND keep our necks warm. Craftsters, your choker needs you, bring out your skills and display them on the necks of your partners. Let us make the world a more beautiful place, one neck at a time ....

The rules are one large item being the choker with the option to make a small item only if you have time. You have a month to make it special. Please remember to photograph your choker - action shots are fine even on a mannequin.

You must post in this thread so we can communicate with you easily.
Always get a DC number (US only) when posting, other countries - please keep a receipt of postage.
You must send on time and pm me with the DC number, OR communicate if you will be late. Also I need to know when you have shipped.
Last but not least...no flaking. Do a good job for your partner.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Gorgeous Choker Swap on: June 13, 2008 04:04:47 PM

Dear All,

I have been a huge fan of chokers for a long time and always appreciated the simplicity and room for originality in them. The classic silk one, the bejewelled choker, even modern updated ones. Well, a couple of months ago I had a tumour removed from my neck. Scary thing in your 20's but thank God it was benign.

I am super healthy now and have a tiny scar that I can barely see. Nevertheless I see the choker in a new light for some reason so this swap idea has an added emotional connection for me.

I would love to organise a swap where we celebrate the choker, re-inventing it or matching it to the tastes of the wearer, be it through pendants or knitting it - anything goes.

It is a small item so can be matched with two other small items of the crafter's choice.

Let me know what you think.

Peace,

Clarity

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Taj Mahal Snow Globe with video on: December 06, 2006 05:48:15 PM
Hi,

This is my Taj Mahal snow globe completed for my partner's India theme in the Altoid Tin Swap - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=129115.180

I've been asked to post some extra info on it so I started this thread
The recon altoid tin (video on last img so give it a minute to load):

I made the inside by scanning an old vintage image, resized, tinted it, waterproofed it then superglued it.

The snow and glitter combo were tested in the jar first, less is more when it comes to this e.g. 1 teaspoon. Finally, I superglued the jar to the tin, then decorated in the style of the content. Hope you like...

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Breakfast at Tiffanys - Tassels: my first earrings on: August 04, 2006 08:35:15 AM
I made my first pair of earrings as a swap angel for the Pink Swap http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=94074.0

They're similar to those tassels Audrey H. wears in Breakfast at Tiffany's and those sported by some Manga characters.

I decided to add a fabric hoop as a change. A girl asked me to make a similar pair for her so I need feedback on what you think. Good, bad, so so? They're my first so criticisms are more than welcome

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / The Pink Swap! on: March 17, 2006 11:39:36 AM

"For everything pretty in pink"

Hi,

I was thinking of a new idea for a swap and noticed how popular PINK is. More than an adjective, Pink can be warm or edgy and still feminine. I think it would be great if we could craft items on this theme. Anything goes be it a small clothing item, a pink cadillac theme, "pretty in pink", art, a wide open swap... as long as it's pink. The imagination can go wild here and there are so many gorgeous shades to work with too. Let me know if you adore pink.
