[only for barter]

I'm not totally sure this is where i want to post this but thought that knitters may be the way to start, so here goes...

I sell handspun art yarn (http://www.insubordiknit.com/yarn) but realize that due to the cost of the humane products I use and the time it takes, it can get a little costly for most people.  And while I usually sell out each week, I thought that'd it would be really cool to pick a yarn a week and offer it up only for barter with other crafters, you know, this yarn can not be bought by the almighty dollar and all.  I've been doing it for 3 weeks now and have gotten some great stuff, however, I thought I'd announce it here in case anyone is interested now or  in the future.

 I post all new yarns every sunday morning and the barter yarn will have a (B.Y) after it's title so it's easy to identify it on the front page.  look here -- (http://www.insubordiknit.com/yarn) .  there's even one up as I write this!

Is it wrong for my own yarns to make me feel all hot and bothered?  really.  they have just been doing it for me lately.  Maybe my obsession has gone a bit far?!

anyhoo, here's my favorites for this week, 3 of which sold within an hour of puttin posting them in the shop, how I'll miss how they make me feel.



Also, the last one is all vegetable fibers!  It's my first good arty vegan yarn and it makes me the hottest of all!  lol.

These were some of my favorite yarn that I spun this week! they're called, in order -- shredded heart, pretty trasheap, flowers in the larder, blood bubble, and party threads!

I also knit this from this yarn .  It's a little bit billy idol (red wedding), a llittle bit steven tyler, doncha think?

Here's a bunch of hats I knitted up while sick this week!  They're gonna be winter presents, I think, but were also examples of some new handspun (monster) hat kits I'm making.  I let my almost 4 year old draw a monster and then  I try to put that monster to wool with the felting needle.  I'm pretty happy with 'em!

Heh.  I just wanted to show off a silly little hat I whipped out last night.   I need something for quick after several weeks on a sweater and thought I'd give a go to some of my wackier handspun yarn, corporeal glee, to be exact, a self-striping yarn replete with monsterous supercoils and uncarded fiber galore.


Clearly it's a nothing knit, no pattern, just knit knit knit on circ with a little decreasing and kitchner at the end.  I wanted to leave it simple and let the yarn speak for itself.  It was totally fun to knit. I love the supercoiles!

Hiya!

anyone ever try spinning straight ramie?  I've got some all dyed up pretty and nowhere to spin, so to speak.  I just spun some up (maybe 25 yards) and dislike it so much, I threw it back in the tub and put away the spinning wheel.  Yuck.  It's so firm and cord-y, and not forgiving or at all nice to spin. 

Does anyone use it for anything else?  blending in with other fibers?  I wanna like it since it's washable, driable, and  ironable, but sweet hot cakes does it suck!
