11  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing machine for an 8 year old? on: April 27, 2007 07:22:48 AM
over here (Holland), Janome Sew mini is considered as the sewing machine for kids. it's small, easy and it works very well. costs about 100 dollars.
I know a lot of women who have a very good sewing machine at home but bought themselves this one for on holiday!
it's easier available in the US by the way (there was some riot about it at first for the sewing machine dealers here didn't want it to get too well-known since they were scared that their more expensive machines would'nt sell anymore).

I would love to have the hello kitty machine Shocked!

I really don't like people who say how young they are so that people can tell them how good they are for their age (like, whatever, does it really matter?), but I DO like your dress, very well done! it must have been very much work Shocked.
13  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Stenciled Socks on: April 25, 2007 03:45:02 AM
no, it was not really difficult. in fact, it was my first stencilling project.
I did put postcards in the socks, so they did not really flubber to all sides and the print would not crack when you put on the socks (for the print was already a bit streched out).

one of my firends turned 18 a while ago and I did not have any gift idea's. So I asked her what she wanted and she said she wanted stenciled shirts. I thought that was a little boring (not for everyone, but for her it is since she always wears stenciled shirts).
Then I thought of what I always buy as presents if people are as weird as I am and I am uninspired; cool socks. Soooo, here they are. I made 4 diffrent ones, so she can match them as she likes to.

what do you think?

veeery nice again ^^. I like the fabric and the style Smiley.
probably I'll try some non-stretchy fabric soon

I'm pretty good at sewing and pattern making, and I've even made a few nice corsets, but when it comes to bras, I don't know where to even start. Bras are just so intimidating with all their tiny pieces and fit issues.
take a course! it's quite expensive, but well, so are bra's in your size I guess Wink. a teatcher can help you step by step Smiley.
17  EUROPE / NETHERLANDS / Re: Resin on: April 15, 2007 01:37:29 AM
you could probably look for a german post order thingie / online shop if you can't find it here. the bigger countries around us usually have more things and it's cheaper as well.
18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where do you get your band T-Shirts? on: April 15, 2007 01:20:43 AM
when I pay a lot of money for a bandshirt, I want everyone to see it Wink.
and for the simple reason that if I don't make it smaller (when it concerns the men's shirts, sometimes they don't have girlies) no-one but pyjamapartymates and people in my sportsclass will see it, I just have to reconstruct them Wink.

your daughter is very cute as well, by the way!

when I listen to songs, or watch the evening news, I always remember sentences that, well, in some way are beautiful (and even more beautiful without their context sometimes). nI useually write them down in my diary.
I would pick one of these and make it inspire me.

on this moment it would be: 'ceci c'est une fiction', which is french for: this is not real. (the context is also really funny, but I would ignore it for a fashion collection Wink.)
