1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 3 Necklaces and a bracelet made from old jewellery... on: November 17, 2009 05:51:53 AM
Not sure if this is in the right place so apologies if it's not!

After I finished my project for the Junk Jewellery Swap 2 I was inspired - stayed up all night giving some old broken jewellery new life...

The first one is beads from a cheap old necklace (H&M I think) which was threaded on elastic which obviously snapped. Not sure if you can see it from the pictures but 8 of the beads are slightly larger and more pinkish, they're from a broken necklace I got from my grandma's collection. The closure is new.

Second one is made mainly from a necklace from grandma, some glass bits - just added parts of a broken chain to a part of the necklace. I know the closure isn't centered but I quite like it Tongue

The next necklace is parts of the same necklace I took the chain above from. I put all the beaded parts together and added some chains to the bottom.

And a bracelet to match...

They're not very special but I quite like them!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Motherboard clock :) on: March 28, 2008 01:41:49 PM
I know I know, not too original but I'm proud! Also, I'm very excited cos it's the first time Mr Peroxsym has shown an interest in crafting! Well, drilling a hole.

When we move into a proper flat I'm gonna mount it onto the wall, but for now it's just leaning against... yep, computer science text books  Roll Eyes  (not mine!)

Like it?

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Couple of simple necklaces - I'm proud ;) on: March 27, 2008 12:28:03 PM
Been trying my hand at jewellery making. Not very advanced (yet?) but I enjoy it! Any comments or suggestions very welcome!

Made this for a friend -

Not really my style (well, my colours) but I adore the flowers -

Sorry it's blurry - hard to take photo of oneself Wink

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Cookie loves milk! on: November 03, 2007 03:23:03 PM
Yay for Threadless.com! This has been lying around my wardrobe for ages, so decided to recon it a bit. Got really inspired by various posts on here (don't have links to hand - but can't claim it's my own idea!)

Looks a bit bunched up at the sides, but I think I'm just standing funny. Hm.

(yes, I'm a spanner..)

What do you think?

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Shiny brown top :) on: November 03, 2007 06:29:43 AM
I absolutely love this fabric, couldn't not buy it... Not entirely sure I love the result, not really something I'd wear - but the boyfriend thought it was store bought so I'm fair happy Wink

There's an elastic band at the bottom, so can be worn slightly differently...

Any suggestions/ideas to improve?

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Ball dress:) image heavy... on: June 26, 2007 07:04:56 AM
Finished this with literally minutes to spare - was putting it on and realised I'd forgotten to attach the straps!

It's not perfect but... you know. I'm quite happy with it! Any suggestions or comments would be very much appreciated!

Have a question - how do I, without boning (which scares the hell out of me) make it so this sort of dress doesn't make me look as flat? Couldn't wear a bra cos of the back...

And the 3am shot.. just cos I love the pic Kiss

The ball was so much fun - despite the appearance of such great acts as East 17 (I KNOW!) and Bjorn Again, we mainly stayed in the room with the jazz quartet. Classsssssy!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Polkadots! Everywhere!! on: June 10, 2007 02:46:25 PM
well, soon anyway...

I don't wear white much but this fabric just jumped out at me in the store. The idea for using red stitching came when I realised I only had a red zipper. Plus I thought it looked kinda cute  Grin

The fabric isn't so busy as it looks, there's just tiny black dots. No great photos I'm afraid. And I have no iron... ahem.

It's also slightly large but I usually wear longer shirts anyway heh.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pants to skirts :) on: June 06, 2007 12:19:17 PM
These aren't very special but I've actually had a lot of compliments on them so thought I'd post them!

My favouritest jeans in the whole wide world had ripped - you know in that really annoying place right under your bum? From one end to another, on both legs. So I was basically walking around with my ass hanging out. I was very popular, but not overly comfortable. I stitched them up but on the first use they ripped back up as the fabric was so thin. So I made the below skirt...

Not a great pic, but here's the back as well - I wanted to keep the pockets as I always need them (purses are so annoying!)

My friend liked this so much she asked me to make something similar out of her trousers... End result is kind of the opposite, the frayed style wouldn't have worked on this fabric - and the front pockets were much deeper than the back ones so I kept those low instead. It's about a size too big on me modelling it here. It's the kind of pants with pockets down the side (I wanna call them combats?) so I kept them. Oh and please ignore the mess... That's my room in sewing mode  Grin

Any comments or suggestions muchly appreciated!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Leopard print skirt... on: June 02, 2007 07:06:49 AM
Not posted anything new in a loooong time, combination of uni work load, and not having a digital camera...

I'm debating whether or not I should keep this - I absolutely love it but I don't know when I'd wear it... Came out pretty much exactly like I envisioned, might make it more fitted around the knees to enhance the femininity of it all.

Afraid I don't have any great pics of it, hard to take flattering photos of yourself!

Closeup of the pleats/tucks

And the lace-up closing - not the best idea I've ever had but I only had blue zips to hand. Hehe.

Any suggestions and comments would be very appreciated!

Yummy! Anyone have any tips on how to make one? My sewing/pattern making skills are mediocre at best, but I'd love to try to make this... so any ideas or suggestions would be muchly appreciated!!
