i knocked this up yesterday, i'm really chuffed with it though i'm not too sure if it's my style. i used colinette prism.

i got round to sewing mine up today, and i'm so happy with how it turned out. i think i stretched it a little too much when blocking because i was so worried it'd be too small, but it should fix itself in the wash.

i left out the cables for the back, mainly because i couldn't be bothered to do it all again, and just made up a pattern of knit and purl stitches to best match the front.

i liked using pure cotton, though it is a little heavy...i'm also having trouble finding an appropriate bra to wear underneath (hence why it's modelled on bettie!).

i didn't get any curling, but that may not last for long.

here's my front, unfortunately i didn't take the picture in daylight so the flash has mushed out the cables a bit, but you get the idea.

i cast on yesterday afternoon, and this is as much as i got done. i'm unemployed at the moment so i have a few hours a day when no-one's in the house so i can really concentrate. i'm really chuffed by how quickly i seem to have picked up cabling, though it could obviously be better.

i'm using sirdar pure cotton dk, in a nice pink. it's a bit lighter than the photo, luckily!

5  Glampyre's Mesh Tank in Knitting: Completed Projects by princesscarwash on: April 03, 2006 08:13:56 AM
finished ages ago, but sewn up today because it's lovely and sunny and i'm in need of cooler things to wear!

made with cheapo black acrylic and some r2 paper i hoped to stashbust - though i only used half a ball!
twas a lovely quick knit, though the ribbing did get a bit tedious. it's a bit too small for me, but i'll still wear it.
couldn't get a picture of the back - there are some here though - http://glampyreknits.tripod.com/glampyrephotos/id103.html

(ps, first proper post - eee!)
