1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / new knitting podcast on: February 10, 2008 09:36:00 AM
hey all!

just wanted to announce to all my fellow craftsters that i've started a knitting podcast...i'd love to get some feedback on the quality of the sound and the content, so check me out!  it's called knit obsession.  you can get to it through my blog right now (linked in my signature) and should be able to get it through itunes in the next couple of days!  i'm recording my second episode today (hopefully after i lose my morning voice), so there will be two up by later today.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / what do grams mean? on: December 07, 2007 08:06:43 PM
hey all!
i was looking at some stash busting yarn and found an assortment of wool yarns that the woman was selling all together for $10, which seemed like a good deal until she said that all 6 skeins were only 300 grams...i'm not positive what that means, but it doesn't sound like a lot...i was thinking of doing a fair isle vest, but i'm not sure that that will be enough...help!!

Hi
We are delighted to introduce our very first book, HEARTFELT - THE DARK
HOUSE COLLECTION. The book has an air of serene calm and contains twenty one
designs that combine elegant simplicity with slight edginess. Many of the
designs are available in kit form although the patterns aren't included. To
view the collection please visit www.kimhargreaves.co.uk

We are very excited about this new direction and hope that you enjoy the
designs, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions at
all.

Best wishes,
Kim & Kathleen

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / bunchy sleeves... on: August 19, 2007 02:15:30 PM
hey all!
any tips on keeping from getting bunchy sleeves with a top down raglan?  i've been picking up some stitches at the bottom when i start to work on the sleeves so i don't get a hole, which might be causing the bunching...just don't want to have to do much finishing cuz i know myself...

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / sweater frustration... on: July 26, 2007 07:32:10 PM
i started knitting sweaters a couple of years ago and still haven't completed the perfect sweater...the first was never finished and got frogged recently...the next few were short sleeved that i've never really worn (one i wore once)...they're still waiting for appropriate weather, which doesn't seem to exist...then there was the one that i finished and then found was too small on the bottom and had huge sleeves...just frogged that one recently and reknit it into something else, which needs some shaping in the middle, so i have to frog it and try again...then there are a few unfinished sweaters that are sitting around waiting for things like time, sewing, blocking, or buttons...

i'm feeling like a little bit of a knitting failure, since all i appear to do well is hats and scarves...any suggestions on my quest for making sweaters i'll actually wear and that actually fit??

sigh...
