Diane B.- Thanks for the additional links on polymers! I like the idea of doing a 3-d wall sculpture in polymer clays--with texture of course. I saw some work like that once. It reminds me a lot of ceramics, without the whole "where's a kiln to fire in" worry.

Right now I'm not sure what I'm going to put on top of the box. Maybe some shells.... Hmmm... (I have some tiny shells that actually match the color scheme.)

Here's my first picture post.Grin I will post next in completed projects, since that's where I hope it will be soon. Jeez, this is taking much longer than I thought it would. I've used 14 colors (acrylic paint) on the box. I've sanded the top some, but not the front (yet). The box is still a work in progress, but the top is closest to being done.

My husband suggested that I might want to paint the lower half of the box (below the clasp) one solid color. After thinking calmly a moment ... X#%%!!--I agree he may have a point.

Gentle criticism appreciated. Thanks!
