1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Handspun Purple Lacey Scarf and Mitts on: April 11, 2008 02:55:11 PM
I spun this yarn back in November and never could think of anything to knit with it, so when i saw the pattern for Cluaranach from Knit Spot, I had to make it.  I didn't have enough yarn for the wrap so I made a scarf, but added four extra pattern repeats to make it extra long and snuggly.  It ended up being about six feet long and eight inches wide.

And here's a close up:

I ended up with quite a bit of yarn leftover so I used it to make the Wine and Roses Mitts from the Winter 2006 issue of Interweave Knits.  I love these.

Both projects took less than 500yds of fingering weight yarn, but I only had a couple feet left when I was done!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Laminaria on: March 29, 2008 03:55:22 PM
This is my first post on the knitting forum, I usually stick to spinning.

I recently finished knitting Laminaria from the new Knitty in KnitPicks Shadow, the color is Oregon Coast Heather.  I made the small size and used just under one skein of yarn.  I love how this turned out!

And a detail shot, this is the border:
