2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Feminist superhero and alternative scouts on: October 22, 2005 06:33:53 PM
Okay, so I'm about to make some last minute cosutumes, but I am having a brain freeze.
I just started a masters degree in Women's and Gender Studies so my brain is full of feminist and social justice theory, but I think it has taken up all of my creativity space...so, i figured who better to ask than the lovely people at craftster!

This year I want to go as a made up super hero that has something to with my program but I can't really think of anything clever. Any ideas???

Also, by friend wants to go as an "alternative" boy scout. In otherwords, patches that mean differnt things, like a coathanger with a no sign, a rainbow, a tattoo, etc. But that is about all I can think of and I promised I would help him make the patches.

Thanks for helping getting the creative juices flowin!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Target student task chair help - dont think this counts as decorating... on: August 18, 2005 04:35:33 PM
but I didn't know where else to put it and I figured if anyone knew some one here would.

I just bought the student task chair at Target but it looks like my 16 dollar deal really wasn't a deal at all. The first step says to simply click the wheels into the base but try as I, my roommates and my boyfriend might we can't seem to get them to go in. I called the hotline and they said just to push really hard, which I politely told them I, my roommates and my boyfriend did, but to no avail.

has anyone else found a solution?

5  Texas / Texas: Central / Moving to Austin! on: May 24, 2005 04:56:19 PM
This isn't crafty but I value the craftiness of your opinions.

This fall I will be starting graduate studies in Women's and Gender Studies (everyone's response to this is: "in texas?" and my response is: "No, Austin.") I was there this last weekend and am absolutely in love with the town. But I was wondering if anyone had any tips on looking for places to rent near the university but not in the midst of undergrad party chaos.

I would really appreciate your imput. Once we have the housing down, look for me to ask about finding places to work to afford this whole graduate school thing.

Thanks!
