It seems like pj pants are a theme this year.
My boy is getting them as well. I am also going to make him a pair of fingerless gloves from knitty for when he rides his bike and paint coffee mugs for when we move in together after graduation since we are both coffee addicts.

I second the idea of putting a pillow on your knees. Make it high enough so that you are looking forward as much as you can.

sounds like this is more than just a yarn issue. you may find other things infested later. i think you should really push the university to acknowledge that this is more than just a "clean the AC unit once a year thing." mold spores can be scary, and I'm all for holding educational instiutions responsible for the health of students.

Once you've raised appropriate hell, you can find out how they are planning on cleaning everything and if its not too abrasive use that method.
