Awesome. I like! I think the little baby looks like a King Cake baby from Mardi Gras.

Erin, how much ink did it take to do that in colour?

I'm not sure, actually...I had just put a new ink cartidge in and all I know is it definitely didn't use the whole cartidge. It's printed on transparencies, btw.

Thanks legallyblonde! Stone's Throw looks like a neat place, worth a trip to Georgetown!

The only really crafty thing I do is knitting, and while the Stitch Niche is my favorite, there are 2 other ones, Knit 1 Purl 1 and Stone's Throw. I don't care for Knit 1 Purl 1 but that's a whole other post.  The owner is nice and they do have a lot of European yarns.  Stone's Throw is in Georgetown which isn't far from where  I live but 25-30 minutes from other parts of Lex.  It's a small shop that only carries Brown Sheep, Crystal Palace, Patons, and a couple of other things but they are very nice and helpful.

Could you (or anyone else who knows) give me an idea of where Knit 1 Purl 1 and Stone's Throw are located? I tried to look Knit 1 Purl 1 up in the phone book, but no luck, and I don't have a Georgetown phone book. I know you say you don't like Knit 1 Purl 1 but I'd like to check it out for myself anyway. I love the Stitch Niche!

And for you guys talking about Paisley Peacock...did you know it closed? According to the sign on the door, they're getting evicted for not paying rent.

I'm in Lexington at UK. Hi everyone!
9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Help with my Rainbow Brite Costume on: September 13, 2005 08:08:50 PM
Bumping this up because this is exactly the costume I want to make, with some changes of my own. Did you get yours done?

I looked at the kid's patterns, but I'm not that great of a sewer so I don't think I could do those, with the puffy sleeves and everything. I'm just going to make a simple dress blue dress, with the puffy white satin trim at the bottom, then knit the arm/leg warmers and make a rainbow belt out of...some kind of vinyl? I haven't really looked into that part yet.

Last year a girl I know was "Cloudy with a chance of showers". She wore a blue tank top and glued cotton balls all over it, plus a white knit cap -- there's the "cloudy" part. She carried a White Rain hairspray bottle that was filled with water (not hairspray!) and squirted people occasionally - that's the "chance of showers". It was really cute!
