21  Re: the 2006 wishlist gallery! in The Swap Gallery by anna-begins on: January 23, 2006 01:19:18 PM
I received a super cute iPod cozy from americandemockracy (Katie).  I love the fabric & the iPod fits perfectly in it.  Thanks so much Katie!   Kiss
(the little silver tab on the side of the cozy says "create" - a nice little touch!)

lady--luck received my package yesterday & asked that I post a picture.  She asked for a fun pillow & I saw that she liked owls so this is what I made her:

I'm glad you like it, Paige!  This swap is fun!   Cheesy

23  Inspirational Tree Box in Completed Projects by anna-begins on: January 18, 2006 06:21:31 PM
I bough an unfinished box at Michaels and decoupaged it with mullberry paper.  I had a really cool tree scrapbook attachment and some inspirational phrases that say hope, imagine, believe, and dream that seemed to go well with the tree theme.  So I put them all together and here's what I came up with.  Sorry for the poor picture quality.  I need to add that I was totally inspired by craftster member amaryllisroze's AWESOME shrine boxes.

25  Re: Beatles Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by anna-begins on: November 18, 2005 07:31:34 AM
I don't think my partner has received the package I sent her yet, but I'm going on vacation & I wanted to post the pictures of what I made before I go.  I shipped on 11/4, but I know it takes a long time for things to get to Cananda.  PEARSONCHICK - if you're reading this & you haven't received the package yet... close your eyes now!   Grin

Beatles Pillow

Beatles Collage

I also made a yellow submarine soap that I didn't take a picture of - maybe Pearsonchick will take a picture & post it when she gets it!  I hope she likes everything!  I love the Beatles so much so this was a great first swap for me!  I can't wait to see what I get from my partner!

26  Why are there so many songs about rainbows - Fleece Blanket in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by anna-begins on: October 23, 2005 05:59:05 PM
Here's my first "no sew" fleece blanket!  I love the fabric sooo much!  I'm happy with how it turned out, and it's so nice and warm!

I don't know if you can see the pattern real well, but it has Kermit the Frog and Animal sitting on rainbows.  The plain fleece is a pale blue that matches the outlines of the stars and clouds on the patterned fleece.

27  Re: Sesame Street/Muppet Show Quilts (In Progress) in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by anna-begins on: October 18, 2005 04:51:30 PM
Ok - I need you guys to help me.  I've come to a road block with making my Muppet quilt.  I can't find any fun fur - or any other fabric for that matter - for Fozzie Bear. He has to be just the right color since he's one of the main characters.  The colors I've been finding are either too dark of a brown or too light of a brown. He's an orangy-brown.  I bought some fur that was close and tried dying it with some orange and it turned out to be a huge mess!  Here's  a picture of what he looks like.  If anyone can tell me where I can find something in his color - I would be so grateful!

What about Elmo?
Cheryl

Elmo is in the works!  (but I must admit, it took me a long time to come around to liking Elmo.  I'm "old school" Sesame Street.....(chants "Grover 4-ever, Elmo never!")    Grin

....and here he is!

29  Sesame Street/Muppet Show Quilts (In Progress) in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by anna-begins on: September 25, 2005 05:06:31 PM
(update: As of 5/7/06 - I have finally finished the Sesame Street Quilt!  You can see it here:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=93914.0)

I have a brand new baby niece and my sister asked me to make her a Sesame Street Quilt.  I bought a book called "Quilting with the Muppets" on eBay.  I started making the squares for the Sesame Street Quilt (which will actually hang on the wall because of all the different types of fabric I'm using, some aren't "baby safe") and decided I needed to make a MUPPET SHOW quilt for myself!  So what if I'm 31?... I love the Muppets!  The problem is that the book has only 4 patterns for "Muppet Show Muppets" so I've been making some of them with my own pattern.  So far I've only made some squares & haven't started any of the actually quilting yet, or any of the satin stitching that's needed, but I'm having so much fun & I wanted to share some of the squares with you.

For the Sesame Street Quilt:

For the Muppet Show Quilt:

I didn't want to make this post too image heavy since it's not the finished project, but if you'd like to see more of the squares I've done so far you can check them out here:

(editing to add this) Here's what I've got done with the Sesame Street one so far!

30  Froggy & Ducky Soap! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by anna-begins on: September 11, 2005 05:04:56 PM
I made 40 of the rubber ducky soaps for my sister's duck-themed baby shower as party favors for the guests.  I scented them with cherry-lime fragrance oil.  I put each soap in a clear plastic cello bag & tied it with a ribbon that said "It's a Girl!"  I made a few of the frog soaps to give to my nephew.

(I apologize for the poor picture quality)

I got the instructions on how to make them from:
http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/RecipeDetail.aspx?RecipeID=96

They were a big hit at the shower!   Smiley
