http://mattersofgrey.com/diy-star-wars-snowflakes/
painted some dollar store frames and bada bing- super easy.
I didn't take pics before I framed them so please excuse the glare.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Game of Thrones magnets on: August 25, 2012 01:36:05 AM
My boyfriend is obsessed with the Game of Thrones books, as well as the television series- so I made him these magnets for his birthday.
the whole lot:

King of the North (Robb Stark):

King in Highgarden(Renly Baratheon):

King on the Iron Throne (Geoffrey Baratheon)

King in the Narrow Sea (Stannis Baratheon)

they are made from the bottom of soda cans, paper and pens- i put elmers over the top as a seal and as you can see some of them smeared a little, but i was still pretty happy with the results.
thanks for looking!
4  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 74 ENTRIES / THIS FRAME ROCKS! on: May 07, 2012 11:58:02 PM
Hello! I'm sure this has been done before but i was actually inspired by all the picture frames i've been making out of shells lately. I collected these rocks at a waterfall in northern Thailand where I live.

The finished project, complete with blind line dinosaur picture:

The making of:

Materials included: Elmer's glue, rocks, cardboard paper, scissors, and paint. (regular paper and pens for drawings)

1. cut shape of cardboard and glue on rocks, then cover with a coating of elmer's (this helps the rocks take the paint better and makes everything more secure.

2. Paint white

3. Paint blue

4. Add crystal shiny rocks (not sure what kind of rocks these little guys are, if anyone knows please share)

this one shows the shininess better

5. Add picture (first i did one of a waterfall, then switched to the dinosaur)

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / blind line drawings on: December 11, 2011 12:33:06 AM
I just moved to Thailand and inspired by the things i've seen here i made this collection of blind line drawings (drawings made with one continuous line without looking at the page). The background of each drawing is made from things i've found around- maps, beer labels, tourist pamphlets, and some are painted. Please enjoy.

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Christmas cards Thailand style on: December 11, 2011 12:25:23 AM
I recently moved to Thailand and there is a real lack of art supplies here- but i managed to get some newsprint, paper, and markers to make these Christmas cards for my family. The background is weaved strips of newsprint, and the lettering reads "Merry Christmas"... at least i think that is what it says. The drawings are blind line- which is sort of my signature right now. They are attached with thread so they move around- please enjoy.

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Alligator people box on: July 01, 2011 07:58:10 PM
Hope this is on the right board- I painted this box for the three tiny movie things swap and i just loved how it came out. The front is a scene from the movie "The alligator people" the movie is in black and white but for the sake of the box i decided to add a few colors- it's just acrylic over a wooden box with a coat of modge podge.

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / personalized doll on: June 18, 2011 12:37:11 PM
I made this doll for my co-worker, Christina. She loves cupcakes, gnomes, and crocheting, and we always get margaritas together.
I bought the doll at the dollar store and then made the clothes with fabric scaps, painted the shoes, sculpted the accessories out of clay (and painted them). The sun glasses were made with wire and elmers glue and the hair is made of strips of fabric.
 Here goes:

I posted this in the dessert board recently, but it was made during the allowed time period- not sure if that disqualifies me but I wanted to share anyways.

I made this babushka cake for my coworker- who loves little babushkas

Enjoy!
