So here's the deal:
For Christmas I'm making small canvas bags full of "goodies" for my four closest friends.  On the outside I'm stenciling their nicknames.  Inside, I'm putting a mixed CD (unique for each friend), a mini picture album, some candy, and a letter. 
I'd like to put something really personal for each one + other little goodies.  Any ideas?

Occasion: Xmas
Relationship: Best friends (4 of them, actually--I've known 3 for 3 yrs and one for a few months now)
Gender: F/F/M/F
Age: 15/15/15/17
Hobbies/etc: The 3 girls play softball but only one is really into it.  I don't play though so it'd be weird if I got them something softball-related.  One (15/F) loves Laguna Beach, Real World, RW/Road Rules challenge, etc and she loves to gossip.  One (15/F) likes to scrapbook, sew, etc. but she's a bit on the wild side.  One (17/F) likes to play guitar (but not v. much recently) and talk on the phone.  My guy friend (15/M) is gay and has a big mouth but is a sweetheart.  He likes to cook.

This is just a really simple collage.  I read the challenge topic and started taking pamphlets that I would not ordinarily take ( ie pamphlets about breastfeeding, making your own baby food, etc ) from the library I hang out at after school ( that's why a lot of the background peices say "Orange County" and such on them ).  I made my collage and in the process asked my 8-year-old brother what the drawing in the center looked like to make sure you could tell it was a baby.  He guessed that it was himself when he was little, so I decided to name my collage after him.

what would be appropriate to get and/or make my best friend whose parents have finally decided to get divorced as a kind of "cheer up//i'm sorry//i'm here for you" gift?  thanks for any ideas!!

So my girlfriend's birthday is coming up in November and I was wondering if anyone had any random ideas.  She likes sports, especially volleyball and softball, and she likes sewing, and punk music but she doesn't really have a favorite band.  We have a lot of inside jokes, mainly from the time before we were going out.  Anyone have any fun, creative ideas that could be gifts by themself or gifts to go with a store-bought gift?
