1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Cute Character Handbags! (Lots of Pictures) on: May 08, 2004 08:24:09 PM
My question is why wouldn't you add them!  They are some of the cutest bags I have seen.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re:Making rips in jeans? on: May 05, 2004 01:54:27 PM
I second the sanding idea.  I did this to jeans back when I was in high school.  Just took a block of wood with sandpaper wrapped around it and it worked awesome.... Too awesome I kept making holes and more holes till I didn't like the jeans anymore.  Tongue
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re:ISO Cheap, EASY, QUICK crafty items on: May 04, 2004 10:18:03 PM
How about little felt flower pins.
Or little drawstring bag/purse things to hold change or other stuff in.  (Drawstring = much faster than zippers)  Smiley
Or those flower pot pens.
Or you could paint flower pots.

You did a wonderful job.
On a side note when I looked at the pic I thought hmph that looks like lake michigan but much warmer so it couldn't be.  But lo and behold your from Milwaukee!

This thread might help and oddly enough the title is Basic Quilting.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re:Patterns for skirts that cover up left leg * sounds odd I know on: May 03, 2004 07:11:27 PM
My suggestion is that if you find a skirt you really like with a slit on the wrong side just sew that side up and seam rip the other side and just turn under the fabric and sew that up so it won't fray.

Or I made this pattern.

you could modify it by putting the gathered/longer material on the left side and making the other side shorter etc.
(I will put in a post this weekend of this pattern in the pattern review.  Oh and the pattern looks kinda dorky on the package but I really like how the skirt turned out.)

Edited to say: you could ask shade and shadow in her link to draft a pattern for you since she offered.  Grin
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re:First stencil with...eh...okay results on: May 02, 2004 02:00:15 PM
thats cool, it turned out great! did your use a spray adhesive?

No I used fabric paint

I think she meant how did you hold down the stencil? With spray adhesive, tape etc.
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re:Peekaboo Zipper Pillow w/ fabric insets ... photos & tutorial on: April 30, 2004 08:53:06 PM
I made a similar bag posted here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=11;action=display;threadid=1035;start=msg29706#msg29706

It's in a thread for zipper cuffs...so even more inspiration for zippers. Cheesy
9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re:HELP! Why am I not selling anything? on: April 29, 2004 07:08:03 PM
I think your purses are very cute and sellable! Someone mentioned it earlier, but I think it is very important. I know that I personally NEVER buy a single thing from freebie websites, such as geocities, tripod etc. even if I really like the item. When you have your own domain, it comes accross a lot more professional. Especially when you can get them so inexpensively these days.

ditto
