1  Na'vi from Avatar in Halloween Costumes by jmkc83 on: November 06, 2010 04:47:01 AM
My friend and I dressed as Na'vi from the movie Avatar. We made the noses with liquid latex that we constructed over clay molds.
I sewed the body suits, loin cloths, and tails. We sponge painted them to make them stripey, then used hemp, feathers, and beads to make the other accessories for the costume.
We also painted our eyelids so that when our eyes were closed they looked like the big, round, yellow Avatar eyes but I didn't get a good picture of that... Oh yeah, we also used a ton of blue body paint!

We saw someone who got a store-bought costume but I think ours were better. I think handmade is always better...

Sorry it took me so long to post pics! I have been having trouble with the craftster uploader so I had to put them on photobucket. Without further ado....

I got a collage, some awesome pillows, a notebook, some lollipops, beads, and some crocheted items!

4  A new use for airline luggage tags in What the heck can I do with THIS? by jmkc83 on: July 13, 2008 11:28:35 PM
So we were on vacation and my boyfriend cut his foot on glass... we made a makeshift bandage out of paper towels and the luggage tape since we didn't have any medical tape around! Who says you can't recycle when you are on vacation?  Wink
