1  Bag and 2 Wallets (pic heavy) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by musicaddict05 on: December 22, 2009 08:09:29 PM
I made the Margaret Sling bag for my Grandma for Christmas.

I made the easy snap wallet for my cousin. I stenciled the Power Rangers logo on the front.

And, my first wallet. I used the tute from on here.

2  Cat lovers welcome here in Needlework: Completed Projects by musicaddict05 on: October 30, 2009 01:50:59 PM
Got the cute pattern from my Country Cross Stitch book. Made it for a friend's birthday. She LOVES cats (we joke that she's going to end up a crazy cat lady), so I thought it was appropriate.

I freehanded the pawprints on the mat with a sharpie so it wasn't so boring.

3  A couple x-stitches in Needlework: Completed Projects by musicaddict05 on: October 15, 2009 10:43:21 AM
Today is my best friend's 22nd birthday. I finished these just in time to give them to her tonight.

#1. We've been going to Maine together every summer since we were in high school. I saw this kit at the store, and it reminded me of our beach.

#2. She knew about this one since she snuck up on me when I was working on it. We both love Twilight, so I x-stitched up a quote and made a bookmark. the word 'dazzle' is stitched using yellow thread, and some leftover gold metallic thread I had left over from a kit. I had forgotten how much I loathe usikng metallic thread, but I soldiered on. I used baseball fabric to back it since her favorite scene, in the book and movie, is the baseball scene.

4  Frumpy dress >> Cardigan in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by musicaddict05 on: August 27, 2009 02:37:42 PM
My friend gave me this dress that she had bought at a garage sale, and asked if I could make it into a cardigan for her. No before pics, sorry, but picture a calf length old style dress with elastic around the waist. Not very flattering.

And, after:

I cut off about a foot of fabric from the bottom, took the elastic out around the waist, cut up the middle, and moved the buttons down. No button holes, since A) my machine doesn't do them, and B) she doesn't button up cardigans anyway.

5  I has been busy! (8 pics) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by musicaddict05 on: August 25, 2009 01:47:52 PM
The past couple days, I'vebeen bitten by the crafting bug.  I've made 2 shirts, a skirt, and an ipod cozy. No action shots because the timer on my camera isn't working...and sorry for the sideways shots...I is lazy.

The first is a plain t shirt that I stenciled a picture of Daria onto. My brush decided to hate me when I was filling in bridges, hence the not-so-clean lines.

Up-close of the stencil

I got the Generation T book last week, so I decided to try it out on one of my shirts. As I was marking the back (with a pen...bad!) I accidently made a mark, so I made a flower and used that to cover it up.
The front.

The back

Detail shot.

I had these awesome sleeppants from my college, but they ended up splitting up the back...really weird since they were about 5 sizes too big. Anyway, I decided to make them into a skirt. Not the greatest, but it will work for playing tennis.

I used some of the many leftover material from the sleeppants to make an ipod cozy. I followed the basic instructions in Generation T, but modified it for my nano, and added ties instead of a loop and button.

6  Nicky Franklin in Needlework: Completed Projects by musicaddict05 on: September 22, 2008 08:52:11 AM
I started this for my best friend's 21st birtday next month, but I got in such a groove last night that I refused to go to bed until I finished it.
A little background...our favorite baseball team is the NY Mets. There's a player on the team named Nick Evans. One day we were playing Sims, and made a sim of Nick Evans, but we named him Nicky Franklin (idk why), and the nickname stuck. He's her fave player, so I made her this.

(I just realized that one baseball is higher than the other...Lips sealed...must fix that)

7  Hello Kitty X-Stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by musicaddict05 on: September 21, 2008 06:35:01 PM
I made it for my friend's 21st birthday. I was going to make something more alcohol related..until I saw pics of her dorm room, which is completely hello kitty. Now, I just need to find a frame for it and send it out.
Got the pattern somewhere online, can't remember where.

(It needs to be ironed, but I haven't had time yet)

My best friend and I are probably 2 of the most sports obsessed people ever. I found this amazingamazingamazi ng fabric in white and black so I made us both pillows.

side one:

side two:

My mom picked this fabric out and enlisted me to make a pillow for their room

I have to find more of that sports fabric, now..my dad and cousins are all demanding I make them pillows..*sigh*

9  Yet another craft/bed room (img heavy) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by musicaddict05 on: August 04, 2008 04:22:44 PM
Warning: Lots of pics, and lots of rambling/details

I decided the other day that I hated having to go upstairs when I wanted to use the sewing machine...so...1 new bookcase and much manuvering later, I have my perfect bed/craft room!

View as you walk into the room. And, going around to the left...

My sewing table, complete with a WIP. The desk was mine from when I was little that I salvaged from the basement. The green tin holds my pins. The purple corked bowl holds change. And there's my senior plate with candles.
The left drawer holds seam rippers, cutters, etc. The right top drawer holds yarn. The middle drawer holds my mom's cross stitch projects. The bottom drawer holds patterns.
Underneath is the sewing box where I store thread and needles...and half of my polyfill stash.

My everything book case....details:

At the very top are sports memorabelia and my grad cap.
First shelf holds all my favorite books...and my candy stash.
Second shelf holds all my teaching stuff. Standards/methods/phonics books, unit plans, worksheets, etc. As well as my box of nail polish and pirate collection.

Next shelf holds perfume and lotion boxes, jewelry box, sunglasses.
Next one holds my scrapbooking stuff (in the tan and green boxes), finished albums, and my great great aunt's costume jewelry
Last shelf holds my concert box, programs from various concerts/shows...albums in progress, markers and my burned CD binder.

In the corner is a coat rack that I use to hold my purses and hats. The frames on the floor are going to be hung as soon as I can find a hammer.
My tv stand. Holds my cable box, dvd player, playstation, stereo...1/2 of my DVD collection. My make up is in the photo boxes on the bottom shelf sorted by use.
The other half of my DVD collection is in the carboard box (behind the tv tray). The tv tray is where I cut fabric and scrapbook.

My bed. Its a futon that I folded out then smushed a queen matress on top. (please excuse the crazy amount of pillows I have).

Nightstand and lamp from which I hang my scarves. Top drawer holds journals and cord box. Bottom drawers holds school supplies.

Computer desk. The shelves hold my Maine rock and bottle collections..and all my little trinkets.

1/2 of my huge closet (yes...I colorcode my closet). The first 2 shelves of the bookcase are used as my 'dresser'. The last little shelf is for shoes that I wear alot.

I cleared out the shelf at the top and that's where I put all my crafting stuff. Details:

The tan boxes holds my fabric and clothes to be reconned. My idea binder, needlework book. My fabric paints are in the photo box and the maroon box holds random things that don't really go anywhere else.

And finally....

My baby. My CD tower. The jewelry is that which I wear alot...so...instead of digging through my jewelry box, I toss it on the stand. I also hang random things off of it. Right now its fairy wings, my grad cord, leis, and the blow up paw from a basketball game a year ago.
The pillow on the floor is my puppy's bed. She sleeps in my room now that she can't go up stairs anymore  Sad

And that is it! Its a bit....overstuffed. ...but I love it.

PS...sorry about those pics near the end, I don't know why they didn't rotate correctly...

10  ABC's...in progress in Needlework: Completed Projects by musicaddict05 on: June 26, 2008 09:26:43 AM
I got this kit when I was 9. My aunt was pregnant, and being the adventurous little kid that I was, I wanted to finish it and give it to her for the nursery. I did a little bit on it, but soon gave it up.
A couple years ago, I ripped out everything I had done when I was 9 (except the satin stitch on the star in the top left) and started again. I'd done a little bit but this summer, I started really working on it, and I'm almost done with the first 3 letters. I had to post since I was so proud for actually accomplishing something.

So, enough with the long-winded story, here are some pics.

(I lost some thread sometime in the last 11 years, and haven't had the time to get more, hence why the one arrow doesn't have a tail)
