11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: New Spring Skirt on: May 16, 2005 09:53:50 AM
hmm.. i did inherit my mother's sewing machine, and i would like to get back into the swing of sewing, being a simplicity pattern it shouldn't be too difficult. (ramble, ramble)

it would be great for work except for the slit - do you think you could insert a piece of satin or lace where the slit is, as a detail but to keep it more work appropriate?  because i really love the shape on this skirt and would like to try it.

14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Condom Rose -with tutorial on: May 06, 2005 08:29:57 AM
they look great - although i don't think it would be a good idea to take the roses apart and utilize the condoms - i think the bending may weaken them.  and nobody likes a damaged condom! speaking of which, did anyone see the consumers report where the condoms distributed by planned parenthood were the weakest ones? ironic, eh?
15  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Free CD candle holder (or pot?) WITH TUTORIAL! on: May 06, 2005 08:26:08 AM
that looks great - thanks for the tute - i especially like the idea of making a mobile out of them. the only thing i wonder is if it is hazardous to bake a cd in the oven.
16  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Raid the Thrift Swap! on: May 01, 2005 07:34:00 PM
that is an awesome idea - i love thrifting and i think it's a creative use of resources
maybe someone could make requests or at least preferences
but i always find my best gifts at thrift stores
