1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Bunny Jacket/ Cardi on: March 01, 2008 03:55:45 AM
Last winter i rememebr this girl in class had a cardigan, i'm pretty sure it was knitted.
It was brown and long to her thighs, though she is short (like me). The jacket/cardi thing had sleeves ofcourse and a hood on which 2 bunny ears were attached (to the hood) Then it has a little fluffy tail like a bunny. It was so cute, i wanted to buy it but i was too shy to ask her where she bought it!

so i thought i might inspired an advanced knitter to whip up a pattern for one as i think it is an excellent idea!!! But i have no talent in knitting, though i plan to learn more this winter.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I want to knit a beanie/hat on: February 29, 2008 04:09:14 AM
If any one knows the pattern, i would like a free one that is easy on how to knit a beanie/hat/shapo/jamakan, that sort of loose head thing, lol. Is there any wool that is really soft? I don't want it to rough up my hair, i get hat hair easy, lol *rolls eyes*

Winter is comming up and i want to have fun kniting while the wool is still cheap.
thank you in advance... Smiley

I have knitted years ago and pearled a bit, but i am very amature!
I want a loose hat, maybe even one with a scarf like part attached, or one i can tuck all my hair into to keep my hair out of the way.

THANK YOU!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Tute for headscarf?!? on: January 30, 2008 10:12:19 PM
I want to make a satin head scarf....so I can do this:
http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/tying.pl

I especially love the colours on this one:
http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/rainbow.pl

I just bought some 50cm long satin. It is a rectangular shape sort of. maybe about 40cm wide?

I think it is a bit too short, as i just tried to do that crown tie but there is not nearly as much dangling down as the models scarf has.

My satin is a nice olive green colour, it matches my eyes perfectly. How would i go about makeing it into a scarf? just cut to size and neated the hemn? Because one side of the satin isn't shiney, and one side is....

Thank you for any help in advance Smiley

Also if you know the correct proportions it should be it would be much appreciated. i am 5 ft flat if that helps. Also i would prefer the scarf was made from satin or silk or a similar soft fabric so that it won't frizz up my hair Smiley Thank you!
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Basic Soap Recipie and Instructions on: November 21, 2007 05:14:43 AM
I'm a newby from australia looking into makeing some hand made natural soap and shampoo bars- small batches, for home use.
I have scoured the web finding bits and pieces here or there.
For those at home who have a basic recipie or have a lot of experience with soap making i would be extremely pleased if you could share:

-exact basic recipie listing allowable changes ( ie 12 drops of whatever essential oil you like)
-instructions / how to (step by step explaining jargon)
-do's and don'ts (ie- orange essential oil is BAD)
-and where to buy these products (ie- LYE) from in Australia!!!
estimated cost of a batch would be helpful too. Smiley

I'm meerly a student on a budget but i am interested in natural safe, home made recipies and something gentle for my damaged hair and eczema prone hands.

if you know a site where it is ALL at, pleae list Smiley Thank you!!!

I am aware there are different types of soap makeing, i am not interested in M&P, the old traditional way is best, and if you can describe the different other methods, i'd likely be most interested in the fastest or cheapest way because i have little patience! haha

thanks in advance Cheesy
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / dog coats on: June 06, 2007 07:22:51 AM
i bought a dog coat form the 2 buck shop and improvised from that pattern (which was way toooo big) like 3-4 times and i've got it down pat....but since i've been using cheap scrap fabric...the one with the best fit ever is already ripped in 2 days! (and i only thought to take a photo after it was ripped! :O )
http://www.freewebs.com/anything_animal/diy.htm

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Quick ds lite cases on: April 11, 2007 06:38:37 AM
ok so i am no genious at sewing...yet!

this is the third ds case ive made, but here is one i made first:

and a while ago:

and here is the new one i made a few hrs ago:

and under the lid:

this is the second thing i've lined....

i picked and unpicked this thing like crazy coz i made everything up as i went (= loads of mistakes!), its slightly different to my previous cases.

The material is sort of fuzzy and soft, the lining was just some scraps. I picked the material for my dog actualy but she's in season at the moment so i thought it would be a good excuse to make another ds case!

comments/critism welcomed :>
i was gunna use a red ribbon, but i havent used the mustard coloured ribbon yet and i thought it was feeling left out! hehe Grin
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Polka Ds Lite Case on: January 01, 2007 05:57:26 AM
Ok so Chirstmas came along and so did my ds lite (i actually opened it earlier but shhh!!!) So what more should a gal do then for once stick to her new yrs resolution and actually get off her butt and make something! I'm a lurker, but i have made a few posts....1 or 2...lol
Ok .... i hope i can get pictures....but its polka dot and has a lace inner pocket so you can view a game you're carrying. It isn't professional or anything but it does the job. The pink ribbon matching my ds was a fluke!
I thought it was pretty cute for 10 minutes work and made out of scrap fabric...i kinda winged it...i didn't put lining on the inside...I'm just glad the ds fits in it!!! i guessed the measurments coz my sister wouldn't let go of it (nintendogs is so cute)
what do you guys think? Any comments good of bad are welcome.
I don't think its amazing but i told myself i'd make "Anything!!!" lol...And i did..i feel so proud :>
My stitching is SO crooked! how do u guys get it straight!!! ur geniuses!!!
