1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: wire hangers?OH Noooooooo on: November 07, 2010 09:40:10 PM
In the past I've tied three straightened hangers together into a pyramid shape and used them as trellises for plants.

Lino is good for making lino cuttings in order to make prints or stamps. I used to do these a lot as a child with left over bits of lino.

In the past I have cut them into small pieces and used them as stuffing for cushions.
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Historical period swap on: September 26, 2009 10:33:14 PM
I'm keen. I've been looking for a cool new swap for a few months.

Personally I like the idea of sign ups in early-mid October, but early 2010 sounds cool too.

6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Jar of Whimsies 5 (Sign-ups 4/20-4/25, Send-outs by 5/26) on: June 13, 2009 08:40:58 PM
Yay for a flake free swap. Grin

I would love to participate in the next swap, however I am going away on holiday for two weeks at the end of July. Oh well, I shall still enjoy looking at the gallery.

The whimsies sent to me by LunaKitten arrived on Friday. They are fantastic. She managed to fit so much in. I feel very spoilt.

(Apologies, i'm terrible at getting everything into one picture, to keep the size down I have done this as links to my photos.)

Firstly, it all came in this beautifully painted box:

Inside I found:

The Dalek magnet is a favourite

The necklace matches one of my favourite skirts. Also stickers, bracelets, picks, plastic figurines including a pink ninja.

The rubber duckies will go great in my bathroom with my big red devil duck. The camera flashes when you press the buttom.

Cool charms. I think these will go on the christmas tree, or perhaps earrings. Not too sure yet.

Assortment of rings (excuse my dry, winter hands)

Jewellery and hair clip. Only one of the earrings is shown- I was wearing the other.

Assorted beads, including little monkeys

LunaKitten also sent this cool snake. It is articulated, as really neat. Neither of my cats quite know what to make of it.

There was also some sharpies, flat marbles in green and clear, fake tattoos, and bouncy balls.

Thanks so much for the great package.

8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Keeping busy...Necklaces, headbands, and bracelet. Pic Heavy on: June 05, 2009 08:41:31 PM
The rose headbands are fantastic. If I had them I would be wearing them everyday.

The tarpanda and the octopus are awesome!! Smiley And here are my whimsies in all their glory from viridis! I have no idea how she got all of that in the jar, I opened it and had a heck of a time trying to get the stuff back inside for pictures lol.

Here is the picture of the jar, I love how she decorated the top. The colors are great and it's so shiny! Is it poly clay? We've all been trying to guess how you did that hehe. You can also the the wooden pieces which I think are tanagrams? And A KIWI!! He's so cute! And yummy chocolates Smiley I'm being nice and sharing with everyone hehehe

To tell the truth, I'm suprised that I managed to fit it all in the jar. It took several repacks to get it all in and on one occassion I struggled to get some things out.

The jar lid is decorated with poly clay. I used a spray varnish that is meant to make things look like glass to finish it off.
