Nice shirt, and good luck on the NaNoWriMo!

themehpatrol, yours is a VERY close second.  It rocks.  It only loses points because you are a live Marie and not a post-mortem Marie Cheesy

Yeah, normally I'm actually a fan of the whole blood look, but have you seen that dress?  I couldn't bear to risk getting blood on it.  I was terrified of getting it dirty as it was!  But thanks!
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Marie Antoinette is where it's AT! on: November 01, 2006 02:45:13 PM
Cross-posted in Halloween album!
For Halloween, I was Marie Antoinette!

Found an old size 8 prom dress, took it in to a size 0, cut and hemmed it, added extra tulle in a bubble hem to add modernity and fullness, made and attached the ribbon/ rhinestone button detailing by, and added the Swarovski crystal beads around the top and in the bodice/ribbon detailing by hand.  Tiara and all extra jewelry was bought.
Hope you all liked!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I need minidress help. on: October 10, 2006 06:47:46 PM
I want to wear a bohemian minidress to my Winter Ball.  However, said minidresses that are kind of what I want are enormously expensive.  Therefore, I plan to MAKE one!  I'd like one with sleeves, if that's an option.  Does anyone know if there are any patterns I could use?

Here is a fun little article that may give you some ideas

This is amazing!  I'll definitely keep this is mind- my plastic boning looks a little wimpy.

I'm in!
I'm making a Marie Antoinette costume.  But it's going to be a Vivienne-Westwood-style, hipster-meets-royalty mini-crini.  This whole Marie Antoinette movie thing is definitely having it effect on me! So far, I've found a square-neck blue satin prom dress, tailored it to fit me, and bought the stuff for the hoop skirt.  Soon, I'll be attatching stuff for a faux bodice and I'll be cutting the dress!
8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Marie Antoinette hair? on: September 11, 2006 01:03:10 PM
good call!
but at this point--my dad's on his way to work. [still in his truck.]
it was their latest edition to hit the stands, with hilary duff on the cover.
Definitely saw that- my sister gets it!  The makeup was a great help but it has, like, nothing for hair.  Thanks anyway, though, I probably would have forgotten about it.
9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Marie Antoinette hair? on: September 10, 2006 07:07:50 PM
I'm making a mini-crini marie antoinette dress for Halloween, and I need the hair to go with it (of course!).  So, question is, how do I do it?  If anyone can link me to a good site I can work off of, that would be great.  Thanks!
