1  Re: harry potter book release t-shirts in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by meli-melo on: August 04, 2007 11:17:44 AM
I know the book release/movie premier has come and gone but I made some shirts for my friends too because I was so excited. I'm a little older so I was jokingly calling us "Dumbledore's Middleaged Army" but it was all in good fun.

On the back it says: Or... The Ministry of Magic are Morons Group.

It was a simple t-shirt but it got a lot of comments when we went down to "Diagon Alley" to pick up our book.

2  Simplicity 4072 in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by meli-melo on: July 23, 2006 04:42:08 PM
Hopefully this pattern hasn't already been discussed.

I have two questions about it:
1) Has anyone made this dress and how did it go (did it fit well, would you use a different size next time etc...)
2) I'm looking for the fabric they used for the velvet trimmed version - does anyone know where I can get this? (if this is off-topic let me know and I will post it else where)

3  First quilt: Maritime themed baby quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by meli-melo on: June 05, 2006 08:21:35 AM
I made this baby quilt last summer for my sister's youngest boy. They moved to New Brunswick a couple of years ago so she calls him her Maritime Baby.

It might not be noticeable but the red squares actually have white polkadots in them. This quilt is a little more traditional than what I would make for myself but my sister really liked it. In fact, she hung it on the baby's wall instead of letting him use it even though I begged her not to (I like functional art).

I'm hoping to make more quilts this summer.

4  Re: calgary, anyone? in Alberta by meli-melo on: October 16, 2005 09:56:24 PM
I'm going to San Francisco on Friday so I appreciate the fabric advice.

Has anyone heard about this:

I'm sorry the image is so big but I went to this sale last Spring and it was wonderful and I wanted to share. I have bought 3 of Sabrina Butterfly Designs' skirts and people stop me on the street and ask me where I got them. I will be in SF during the sale but I want to encourage this sort of thing so I am trying to spread the word. Cool events like this don't happen often in Calgary.
