Here's a shirt that I designed for my college's annual student fashion show.  I tea stained the fabric, then embroidered angel wings to attach onto the back.     It's so much fun to wear!

So our college just had its annual student designed, student run fashion show, and it was a blast! I had 5 designs in the show, 4 of them were designed by me and the 5th was Rowan Butterfly.  I also made a necklace and 2 hats.  I'm only posting the knit designs here, but feel free to check out the rest on flickr or on my blog!!

The top of this dress is knit with Lion Brand Wool Ease Chunky.  The edging is all hand crocheted.

Ok, so I'm not really sure how popular this will be as a knitalong, but I did hear some discussion about the pattern on the boards, so I thought I'd give it a try.  You can check out the pattern at http://autoscopia.com/amelia/archives/2005/06/index.html  .... it's about halfway down the page.  I just got my yarn in from Knitpicks....same colors she used because I'm boring (and I thought they looked very nice together)  ..and I've started on the back.  I hope others would like to join!

Any French knitters? I need help translating this phildar pattern. I understand the shaping and everything, but I can't decipher this stitch pattern. If anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it.  Oh..and it's the pink bobbly sweater on the cover of Phildar tendances automne 05/06

Here are the rows I can't figure out:

Row2: 1 m. lis, 1 m. endr, *5 m. ens a l'env., faire 5 m. dans la m. suivante en la tricotant alternativement a l'endr. et a l'env (2 fs) et encore a l'endr* and then it says repeat..

Row6: tt en m logues endr. (piquer l'aig. droite dans la m. de l'aig. gauche comme pour la tricoter a l'endr., enrouler le fil 3 fois autour de l'aig droite pour tric. i m endr)

Row7: tt a l'endr en laissant tomber 2 jetes a ch. m

That's pretty much what I don't understand.  I'm going  to keep working on it and maybe see if I can get somewhere....

First up is a pair of monkey mittens I made using Red Heart.  I made them a while ago, but found them as a nice surprise while I was cleaning my room this week!  The pattern is just a basic mitten pattern, and I added crochet discs to make it fun.

Second is Stephanie from www.knittingfog.net 's wonderful pattern for the Corrine Dress.  I also finished this a while ago and wanted to wear it for New Year's but couldn't find a nude slip to go underneath it...hence the mannequin modeling it.

I know this issn't knitting, but I still thought it could go in this category.  I painted this picture last year in my Freshman color class using acrylic paints.  It was for my final project... as kind of free for all assignment.  I based this picture off of a pic I found on the internet as well as my own knitting that I was doing at the time (a blue shawl).  I made it in memory of my great great Aunt Nell who taught me how to knit when I was four.  I appreciate all the skills she taught me, and now it's turned into my passion for life.  Let me know what you think!  And if the pic doesn't load, you can always check out my blog! Here's the American Beauty Rose Capelet I made from Nicky Epstein's book, Knitting Over the Edge.  I ended up using 3 balls of Bernat Soft Boucle Yarn in soft rose.  I modified the pattern a little bit by making the whole capelet in garter stitch.  I didn't think the basketweave stitch the pattern called for would show up with the textured yarn.  I'm pretty pleased with how it came out, but the picture doesn't really do it justice.  I still can't master taking timed photos of myself, sorry.  Hope you all like it!  Oh, and if the picture doesn't show up, you can check it out on my blog: www.knittingnellie. blogspot.com
