12  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where do you get your tea towels and things? on: July 25, 2007 11:49:31 AM
Don't laugh but, I buy the flat fold birdseye cotton diapers for tea towels, the edges are woven instead of hemmed, and they are much thicker then flour sack towels. I get 12 in a pack for ten bucks. Once they are embroidered no one knows they were diapers.

Nice bags! Welcome back Mom, been sewing back to school clothes? My Girl goes to college this fall and she and I have been sewing for her, actually she likes the pinning and cutting out part ( I hate that part ) and I like the sewing part so it works out great. She has even made her best friend come and help ( every bag she has was made by me and stolen by her lol ) I am going thru bag making withdrawal though!

that's so sweet of you. it would be neat to do a black one with a stencil of a broken arm bone under it... you know x-ray style. or a white one with a pocket for a sharpie marker so people could sign it... i don't know, he may think that's ridiculous depending on his age.    you did a great job!
Great ideas! Fortunately its not broken, just basically had the joint jammed into the shoulder socket. He collided at a full speed run with a 230 pound guy they both ended up hurt.

Love love love that fabric! Is the clutch a pattern or did you draft it? The piping and the pleats are fantastic. Great execution!

Love it, the shape is great. I made an overnight bag out of this fabric, it's already been stolen from me by my bf daughter.

My Son jammed his shoulder playing football, so he has to wear a sling for a few weeks. He asked me to make him one better then the ugly baby blue one the Doc gave him. I had this fabric in my stash, I plan on making him a few more in different quirky fabrics.

Thanks dyabolica,
I will get started on Fall tonight or tomorrow. Just have to catch the sun at the right time.
Fall is posted, a good way to make a cheap light table, is to seperate the leaf on your dining table and put a piece of glass over the opening and a lamp underneath it, or if you have a glass end table or coffee table just put a lamp under it.
