1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Hoshi the Panda on: January 18, 2008 11:42:08 AM
I'm in love with Beth Doherty's Amigurumi book.   Smiley  Here is my first amigurumi influenced by her Strawberry.

This is Hoshi the Panda Bear, she is for my dear friend Heather.

I gave her a star barrette (Hoshi means star in Japanese):

a necklace:

cute little mary janes w/ a pink button (brad):

and some lacey panties Wink

I hope you like her as much as I do!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Strawberry Shortcake bag on: January 18, 2008 11:14:35 AM
Cute!  I just made some pillows with a similar fabric!

Really?  That's too funny b/c I used another piece of the sheet for a pillow!

Not the best pic of it.  But the other side is carebears.  Smiley
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Strawberry Shortcake bag on: January 16, 2008 11:20:30 AM
I made a bag for my best friend for Christmas combining some of her favorite things.

1. Strawberry shortcake- she loves her & since I had some vintage sheets lying around, I decided to use it to line the bag as well as the detail on the pocket.

2. Apricot & Hopsalot (Strawberry Shortcake character)-  We volunteer at an animal shelter & spend a lot of time with the homeless bunnies so Hopsalot made me think of that.

3. Orange & cordoroy.  Just some other of her favorites I incorporated with this fabric I found at the thrift store (one of our favorite places). Smiley

And on to the pictures.  I'm rather new at sewing and I used my purse as a model of what I wanted to make.

This is the front of the bag:

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / It's a me, Mario! on: November 29, 2007 12:06:35 PM
I'm new to this polymer clay thing but once I started, I was instantly addicted!  Here is my latest creation, an incense burner for my husband for Xmas.

and here (pardon the horrible pic), you can see the incense goes into the pipe.

I think I may add a little turtle or goomba out by the mushroom too.  hmm...

Just wanted to share!  My friend & I have been working on other polymer Xmas gifts so once I give them out, I'll be sure to post up the pics! I don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Cat House! on: June 13, 2007 07:48:52 AM
Good Job Grin

We are taking the stray with us when we move(hopefully-to both ).
Im excited yet nervous as to how she will react.she used to be a cat house but ran outside and refused to come back in...long story..
so I need to name her,get her stuff, and build her a home for my room since I have to take care of her... Grin

best of luck!  We've had FlatTop inside for 2 years now.  We brought her with us when we moved into a new house & she has since gotten a new "brother" & "sister" kittens.  It's taken some adjusting but she is doing well & definitely has no desire to go back outside! haha.  All the kitties still use the cat house too.  Too cute.

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Some Scarfs I made for Xmas Gifts....pics! on: December 21, 2006 06:27:07 AM
thanks for looking everybody!   Smiley

these are lovely!!!

yep to tassles.

what are the tags you've put on them?

the tags on them are "handmade with love" tags that i made up for all my handmade gifts this year.  I used vellum & scrap scrapbooking paper & eyelets to make them.

here's a closer look at them:

what's the colors that you used for your friend Kae's scarf.  those colors are very pretty.

I used Soft Boucle Yarn by Bernat in these two shades:

Soft Taupe and Westport Shades

I picked it up at AcMoore.  I really like the colors you used on your scarf too!

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Subversive Inspired Cross Stitch Gift~ possibly offensive language? on: December 18, 2006 12:04:54 PM
So i made this for my best friend for xmas.  It was inspired by the Subversive Cross Stitch stuff but we have our own special spelling for Bee*otch & i made up my own design & popped it into a frame with some scrapbooking paper as a background.  What do you think?  It was really easy & i can't wait to make more!
