2  Stolen Jacket, daunting re-con. in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by withoutAclue on: December 08, 2008 06:07:29 PM
My lil' rocker sister wants this jacket from Delia's, which is actually a rip-off of an ugly 80s/90s Wilson coat that she doesn't know I own.

Here is the 80s-ish Wilson leather "caterpillar":

(click to view detail) (click for back view)

(Just for fun, look at all the copied details: 1) zippered sleeve cuffs, 2) asymmetrical front zipper, 3) hemline belt, 4)crazy diagonal pockets, 5) "epaulette" loops, and 6) collar snaps)

And here is the pleather "butterfly" it must become:

The sleeves need to lose width, the shoulders need to lose bulk, and the overall torso shape needs to be slimmed on top to make it more rectangular and less V-shaped.

Any help on where to start with this?

Thank you, brave crafters!

3  Front ruffle pencil skirt needs your luv! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by withoutAclue on: September 22, 2008 11:22:14 PM

I want so badly to know how to make that long center ruffle from the long scraps I have after making a pencil skirt.  How do you make that sort of ruffle?  Is it little tubes all sewn in a line, or are they gathers?

EDIT: Guess I have to add this to completed projects, because insomnia helped me figure it out!

P.S. YES, I spilled soymilk all over them.  Hopefully it will come out. Sad
P.P.S.  There is a tiny triangle flap in the back hem, too.  Smiley
