2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: TUTORIAL - Getting That Perfect Sized Bag...and Great Pockets Too! on: September 12, 2008 05:56:05 AM
When I cut a two inch square on the bottom corners and use a half inch seam allowance, I alway end up with a 5 inch wide bottom.  I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.  Anyone know?

Use a 3/8 seam and double-triple stitch it. That will take it right back down to exactly 4.
OR
If you prefer the safety the generous half in seam, just cut the squares at 1 and 5/8 inches.

Either way, you should get 4 inches exactly.

3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Sophisticated Punk Rock Kitty on: September 12, 2008 05:49:49 AM
There's my Punky! I didn't get a chance to reply yesterday when I caught her on the main page. I love her so much! She's chillin' beside Little Dwight-y on a shelf over my desk. they look right at home.  Grin

i know i said this to you personally already or at least should have, but I am so jealous of your crochet talents!!! i have tried and failed many times and no way could i have ever made something as cute as this....and i certainly wouldn't have thought of the ummm rear end details, even though i seem to see my cats' butts more often than their faces.....what is up with that? really!!! tail up means happy cat from what i understand, but it doesn't always make a happy owner, lol. anyways....

and guys, you just have to know how perfectly she came up with this. i mean, i didn't request anything, i just gave her a list of likes and dislikes and viola, she worked her magic and i couldn't be happier. I mean, we got pink and black, a cat, a punky mohawk and the cutest kitty butthole i've ever seen.....wow, i never in my life imagined those words would come out of my mouth in that order. and for the record, i didn't ask for the extra detail, but you guys can all see that she just wouldn't be the same without it.  Tongue

Nikki ROCKS!, Punky ROCKS! and Craftster ROCKS for being a melting pot of super-talented craftsters!!!!

5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Dwight Schrute from "The Office" (lots o' pics) on: September 11, 2008 06:30:35 PM
Neener neener neener guys, he's all MINE now!  he is the most awesome little guy in the world. and his little briefcase-o-documents was the icing on the cake. its so funny about the schrute buck, because I had just printed out like 20 full sized schrute bucks and stanley nickels for my husband to sneak onto his coworker's desks yesterday and i opened the package last night. hubby was watching me and we about died laughing when we found the tiny buck. now i just have to keep hubby from kidnapping him and taking him to work with him...

you absolutely ROCK Nikki!!!!!!!
