sorry this is an incredibly late response, but i would love to be part of this in the spring. i have been on a crafting hiatus, blah.
i feel like there isn't much of a crafty presence in fayetteville. it hurts my lil crafty heart.

Did you paint each one or silkscreen or? I'm very interested, because that's such a cool effect. I have a black bookcase and would love to do something similar in my bedroom but in white.

Maybe attaching the canvases to the containers would make it much more functional. The project is gorgeous! I'm a total Marilyn Monroe fan!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Organic Cotton On Sale & Free Shipping! on: April 18, 2008 06:15:12 PM
Just to let everyone know the sale is now over. It's back up to $5 a skein rather than $3.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Organic Cotton On Sale & Free Shipping! on: April 08, 2008 10:58:33 AM
Go now! lol

Joann.com > Bernat organic cotton yarns are $3.00 a skein.
Use the Retailmenot.com free shipping code FSF8RMENOT. $25 and over gets free shipping.

I haven't seen anything this cheap in the months I've been searching. I bought 9 skeins for about $28 including tax.

I'm sort of into everything, except scrapbooking, unless it's digital.

My preferred crafts/hobbies are:
crochet
sewing (hand/machine but im a newb at those)
gardening/home decor (organic and repurposing/thrifting)

im really creative and willing to try almost any craft once. so i'd love for a fayetteville group to open up and id even help out if there is a need.

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Swiffer Cover, I love the pop corn stitch. on: April 08, 2008 04:50:03 AM
This is so nifty!

My mom is a total swiffer addict so I was looking to do something similar. I'll be giving her a Christmas gift green basket and hoping to turn her on to reducing, reusing and recycling by making items like this. Thanks for posting this and showing us it can be done and in such a cute way!!

P.S. I own an Omop (from Method) which does offer reusable pads and is similar to a swiffer. For those looking for something similar but from a more greener company. Wink

Count me in!

I bought these two matching huge, heavy, black chandeliers made out of iron and wood that this nice lady was selling for an amazing price. (She was closing out her lil antique shop.) So for the last few years I've been holding on to them figure out a special project and here it is!! I was just thinking about that I had to finally do something with them or sell them.

I have so many ideas on what I want to do, paint, either rewire (hard wire? plug-in? I'm a wiring newb) or candelabra, etc. I'm excited!

Oh my gosh! This is so gorgeous. I do hope you will make another and share your talents with others by letting us buy it. (and more if you like!) I would love to have this! I hit this rocks because it does and makes my heart sing. It's like one of those items you see and it makes you wiggle and dance and want to own it. This is such a thing for me.

I would love to have a button like that, but I understand your priorities. Hil would be proud! Wink I'm hitting this rocks also. It's great handiwork and I'm a Clinton supporter too.
