3  Tartan love part one...Coat ^_^ in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Turnip on: September 09, 2008 03:02:23 PM
OK so i haven't made anything in a few years because alevels completed and degrees started...but i was made redundant so did something productive instead Tongue as in selling my wardrobe, then after doing so realising i needed some clothes. so many stripes/lines/tartan/checks etc. later:

on the hanger

i used a pattern that i found on holiday in a prima mag..i added darts in the back and front as the a-line cut didn't suit me. theres piping detail along all the seams. haven't yet decided whether to add buttons as i usually just belt up instead.

4  HAVE FOUND THE FABRIC (although its already in top form...) IN NEED OF IDEAS! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Turnip on: March 28, 2007 03:27:43 PM
OK. I bought this top:
[imghttp://www.missselfridge.com/wcsstore/MissSelfridge//images/catalog/156057046_large.jpg[/img]http://I know that I don't really want in this style, but I fell in love with the fabric. I got in the sale in a size which will...lets say give me room for reconstruction. It's a UK size 16 and i want it down to an 8 so you get the idea of how much spare fabric is going to be left over. I'm not really into the idea of a smock top; in need of something which defines the waist better, and I don't wanna turn it into a cami. Any ideas from my list of demands??!?!

I had a top like this in my mind:

but is there any way of incorporating the "angel sleeves" they call em!? Huh Will attempt anything, even if it's stupidly difficult!

5  Ultra-Floofy-Dress: We Have Stripes! ||||||| in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Turnip on: October 06, 2006 11:33:32 AM
AHA! So it has taken me a while to get round to using this fabric...I stored it away in early February and hasn't seen the light of day for months...Plus I kept on starting and stopping. I kept changing my mind! Ah well. Now I have made some progress: it's finally finished.

The stripes are white, yellow and grey. The yellow makes the grey seem slightly green-ish. But it isn't. Definitely grey and yellow.

The pattern is my own, and has top-stitching on the front panels and sleeves/shoulder. My aim was to create a dress that was flattering to my straight-up-and-down "figure"...

The front:

The Back:

At an Angle:

p.s. the skirt isn't wonky, perfectly symmetrical. It's just that I had to keep on walking too and fro with the useless camera Tongue Plus it has a square neckline, it's just the cami underneath is showing.

6  Rainbow-Coloured-Sky-Falling-Person-RANDOM! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Turnip on: September 17, 2006 12:04:01 PM
I painted this using poster paints at college. It is a BIG picture. It's four A2 pages stuck together...no idea how many metres or yards that is, but it almost covers an entire wall! We had to draw around each other so that's a real sized me.  Tongue

8  I Wall-Paper-ed My MP3 Player...with the inside of an Envelope! :D in Completed Projects by Turnip on: August 26, 2006 01:35:04 PM
So this might sound slightly nuts... Cheesy but if it makes you happy! I found this great grey pattern inside and envelope I got in the junk mail. I thought OOOH pretty. Then my eyes glazed over.  Grin What to do with it?   Roll Eyes Huh Roll Eyes Well I had been decorating my room a week ago and thought, why not do my MP3 player??! I didn't really like the silver colour anyway because everyone has that kinda thing. This is probably why I don't have an I-Pod; everyone else has one.  Undecided

I painted PVA glue over it after I stuck the paper on to make sure it doesn't get damaged and voila!

Before I found the envelope...

After the wall-paper-ing incident...

Different huh?  Grin

9  Season - Autumn. What better than conkers? :) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Turnip on: August 24, 2006 02:03:44 PM
I did this picture last year on what my teacher called "fancy expensive paper" Probably about 2 a sheet *chokes*. Glad it didn't go wrong! It is painted in inks and I've used bleach to get the orange-y effect.

In real life it's HUGE! When I get the chance to take it home, it's going straight on my blank wall, finally Cheesy

It's also on my artwanted gallery, it's got bigger pictures:

10  It may be a copy, but I thought it was pretty! :P--->PINK in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Turnip on: August 24, 2006 01:58:29 PM
I don't have any idea who the artist was originally but I loved it. Probably because of the colour. I painted it on board (reduced!) and it is a firm fixture of my newly decorated room. It's not a like for like copy, as I have a tendancy to do things a little odd. The colours are the same though.

I have also put a picture of this in my artwanted gallery here:
