1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Homecoming dress patterns, anyone? on: July 14, 2007 05:46:40 PM
Okay, so here's the dealio:
My best friend asked me to sew her homecoming dress this year. That's cool, no problem, right? Well, I haven't been able to find a decent looking pattern for her. She's 15, and she wants a babydoll style dress. Unfortunately everything we've found so far is either too formal, or too old-lady-ish. Anyone have pattern suggestions for my girl? Kthx.
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Christmas present-maker... I need stencil help! on: December 13, 2006 04:21:35 PM
Okay so I'm REALLY supposed to be studying for a test I have tomorrow. Does crafting ALWAYS win over good grades?  Roll Eyes

Annnnyways... I'm planning to make a stenciled hoodie for my bff for christmas. I've never stenciled a thing in my life, and I was wondering what the best method would be.

The hoodie's black, and it's going to have a band logo on it.
I was considering bleach pen, along with spray bleach cleaner because I like the effect, but I was wondering if there's something better out there? I can't spend too much more on it cause i have alot of other people to buy for.

Thanks in advance for the help!

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Well OWL be darned... Ruthies first POSTED tee recon! (: on: August 05, 2006 05:57:23 PM
Can I get a cha-yeah?
I thought so. (:

I made this tee for my mom, making the sides from one of the projects in Gen: T. I think the project is called It's my party (and I'll tie if I want to.) Don't quote me on that.
The instructions call for leaving the neckline alone, but my mom wanted a lower neck. My first-ever neckline. Ta daaaaa!

The pics:

The front. I know it looks a little tight or something. It was all the weasle's fault. (Don't even ask.)

The lovely side/front shot. Showing off the tied triangles.

Close-up of my moms chest. Oops. The owls are the only reason she bought this shirt. It says Nobles Day Camp, and we bought it for $1.49 at the secondhand store.

Well? What ya think? Be honest.

I don't know what else to say so.. Onto the pictures. *hopes they work*

Purse front, with studded belt strap! (:

Purse Innards. It has two pockets, which were actually a mistake-turned-idea.

The closed wallet.

Wallet, close-up of credit card pockets.

Close-up of money pocket! YAY.

The change purse.

Change purse close-up of inside. Complete with quarters! Oooh, ahh.

Well, there ya have it, folks.
Comments, constructive criticiscm, anything!

5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Call me strange but... tampons. on: July 20, 2006 02:31:32 PM
Yep.
See, the box I want to commandeer aren't the kind I use. The only reason I'm taking over them is for the box, 'cause I'm making a tampon holder for my bathroom.

If anything, I can throw them at my sister and she can use/toss them, stick them up her nose, whatevs. But I wanted to know if you crafty people had any good ideas for them first!

6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What to do with boys camo cargos? on: August 25, 2005 09:34:15 AM
See, I bought these cute cargos from the thrift store for my best friend. She's tiny, so we decided a young boys size 8 would fit her fine.

Turns out the poor thing could barely breath.

She gave the pants back to me, so now I'm sitting here with these adorable pants.

I was thinking of making a long skirt for her for her birthday out of them, so I could keep the cargo pockets.. I'll just have to figure out making the waist bigger with elastic or something..

But any other ideas?
