1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: What are you gonna be for Halloween??? on: October 24, 2009 10:59:23 AM
I'm not actually "going out" for Halloween (as in trick-or-treating or anything), but I'm still dressing up, obviously. =D

My girlfriend and I are going with some friends to the midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show a couple hours away. We decided we'd just dress up in kind of revealing Loli getups, or wear regular clothes and reveal some epic lingerie at the end of the show.

Ahhh! I'm so excited! I love Halloween...

I hate to drag up dead posts, but...
I'm from the Munising area.
-le sigh- I wish there were more openly crafty people here... Also lesbians but, you know, that's another story. >.<
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Not so much a "what" as a "how" on: August 04, 2009 08:47:37 AM
...Isn't it odd, the things crafters promise their friends to do?

More odd, though, has to be the kind of things people /ask/ their crafting friends to do.

I want to see how this turns out! Smiley
4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: What to do with a set of tiny glass bottles? on: August 04, 2009 08:44:19 AM
...Tiny messages in bottles?

I would totally put little inspirational notes or whatever on baby slips of paper, put them in the bottles, and attack public places with them.

Just think: You could brighten someone's day up radically, like if you were at a restaurant and your waiter just looked pooped or stressed, or a cashier at the grocery store...

As a matter of fact, I'm going to do this once I actually begin my tiny glass bottle collection. Haha.

I hope you find an idea!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Black Petticoat And Skirt on: July 31, 2009 08:28:42 AM
Oh wow. I am in love with this petticoat.
I am thinking of making one for myself for a murder mystery I am hosting, but I doubt I'll have the time/amount of tulle/patience required to make something this outstanding and beautiful.
These questions may have already been answered, but I've forgotten already so:
a) how much tulle did you use?
b) how long (approximately) did the petticoat take you?

Thanks for posting this! ^.^ Very inspirational.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Alice Cullen (Twilight movie) dress on: January 01, 2009 05:01:10 PM
first off, i am also a huge fan of this dress! i think she and the dress are both so pretty.

moving on:
i think this dress would be fairly simple to make with a pattern like http://www.simplicity.com/assets/3750/3750.jpg. I think with a pattern like that you would only have to make a few minor changes (making the shirt longer to be a dress, making the straps thinner, etc) and it would work.
you could use grey cotton or just jersey material, and then  for the lacy part either make a lace overlay from the pattern, or (if you were really ambitious) stencil plain fabric with a lace pattern(i've heard you can do this, anyway).

i hope i helped a little. i'm actually really inspired now to try and make the dress myself! ^^ good luck!

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: fishing bobber earrings on: August 23, 2007 09:24:42 AM
Okay, I want the world to know that I almost did this like a million times too!
I was at GanderMountain(big hunt/camp/fish place, lots of dead animals hanging on the walls, the usual...) with my mom the other day, and she was looking at fly tying stuff. I was browsing the aisle, complaining loudly about being there, and stopped dead. In front of me were these giant cases of sparkly, fuzzy, feathery, and shiny lures and fly tying goodess. I think I /might/ have embarassed my hxc fishing mom by yelling 'Oh my GOD, mommy, these would make the coolest earrings ever, right?!?!'

...awkwarddd... =]
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Ta-Da : I want my daddy dance dress to look like THIS! [big on pics] on: August 05, 2007 03:08:16 PM
I am in love with this little girl, and her adorable dress! This is the exact kind of mommy i want to be someday(seeing as i'm only 17, it could be awhile..)! it's odd, she reminds me of  me, what with the random tutu/chucks combination. I sure wish highschool had a daddy/daughter dance... *wistful*
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: giant school T-shirt to unique tank top on: July 30, 2007 08:17:52 PM
i have school tee-shirt woes.
prepare for the novel i'm about to embark on... Roll Eyes

picture this: my first year in public school(homeschooled my ENTIRE life).
i buy the one thing that makes me feel like an 'official' school kid.
THE LEGENDARY CLASS TEE SHIRT.
observe as i fall in love. it's quite pathetic the amount of time i spent adoring the 'class of 09, PHS sophomores' lettering on my beloved new key to normalcy.
problem 1? too big. easy enough to fix, if i'd ever gotten the chance to before problem 2 came along.

THE SCHOOL HAD THE AUDACITY TO PUT ME IN SCHOOL AS A FRESHMAN AND NOT TELL ME. now, i'm sixteen, and they had already supposedly 'enrolled me as a sophomore'(i should have been a junior, but because of my homeschooling they effed it all up), so my counselor telling me that i was basically TWO years behind my graduating class was hitting way below the belt. -.- i could have strangled the woman with her hip, delicate gold locket, had i not had the poise to remain calm.
so now, embarrassed and disappointed, i was left with a 4 sizes too big tee shirt that's printed with THE WRONG EFFING CLASS ON IT. i wanted to live in a hole for the rest of my life.

however, zoom in on the happy ending, where i now realize i can recon the shirt(taking out the 'class of 09' bit), make it finally fit, and proudly wear my 'old-school'(none of the other new sophomores will have it, now will they?) PHS soph tee shirt with pride and individuality!
*hold for applause*

...did anyone actually stay with me through that whole story? good for you! have a cookie.

oh.. by the way, i likie your shirt!  Grin
