1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Oriental fabric binge!! 2 bags so far... on: April 10, 2006 07:28:48 PM
I decided to sit down one weekend and make myself a bag out of some very cute Japanese fabric I picked up at a craft show recently. And since then I have had about 5 requests from friends for me to make them a similar bag! It's absolutely crazy how popular these little babies can be Cheesy

mine is the pinkish yellow one with wooden handles which I carry everywhere with me and the black one is the first one of 3 orders so far so friends. My friend is stoked, hers has a zipper pocket and a magnetic catch and black acrylic handles whereas mine is the lazy version with just a simple pocket.

Hope you like Smiley

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Beach bag... its huuuuge!!! on: February 05, 2006 02:18:57 PM
Hey everyone, its been a little while since I had the energy to make anything but my friend commissioned me to make a beach bag for her to fit her extra large double towel and a change of clothes and some drinks... so I made up mu own pattern based on another one I already had and it came out more massive than I originally wanted, but decided to keep it that way. She could also use it as an overnight bag!!

What do you think? It's pretty basic but I love this fabric Cheesy

thanks for looking!

Hello Cheesy

I made this shoulder bag for my brothers girlfriend for Christmas, it is a wool blend outer with an oriental inner and a ribbon detail. She liked it so I am happy but I have to be honest I wanted to keep this one for myself and had a hard time letting it go!!

thanks for looking Cheesy

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Monkeying around :D on: January 02, 2006 06:04:53 PM
hey everyone, I decided that while I was bored at home one day over Christmas in the sweltering Australia heat I would sew up a little Monkey clutch for a friend in brown cord. I was going to sew up more of a storm but it was just too hot!!

hope you like and thanks for looking Smiley

Hey, my friends and I just had a Kris Kringle amongst ourselves and I decided to make something rather than buy something.

Anyway she loved the ba and said that she would take it not only to the beach but everywhere! Makes me very proud that she will be displaying it.

It was my first attempt at making a zipper pocket in the lining (I used the jordy tutorial here). I had a fair bit of trouble getting the zipper in the cut whole and making sure there were no gaps in the sides of the zipper. I'm still not sure what I do to ge rid of those gaps but the pocket worked pretty well. I used the same fabric for the pocket as I did the outer bag. Lining is just poplin with interfacing. The outer is canvas. It was also my first attempt at attaching bamboo handles... it was quite easy.

What do you think? Comments and criticisms all welcomed Cheesy

I've made another bag for my brother's girlfriend for Christmas but have to take photos tonight!

Hi,

I have a friend who has a 3 year old daughter who is starting to like all things girlie, so I made her a little miniature bag in yellow (her favourite colour) and with a big lettered B on the front. She loved it and has filled it with all her My Little Ponies! Cheesy

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first messenger bag... on: September 05, 2005 04:30:38 PM
Hi there, I've been dabbling in bag making for the past month or so and have just made my first messenger/satchel bag. It's a basic bag but I love it, has a pocket inside and a magnetic catch. I used an iron on aluminium motif I bought at a craft show to add a little sparkle to it.

All comments welcomed  Smiley
