So, this year my school's having a dance called blackout, where everyone has to wear white 'cos we're having black (ultraviolet) lights.  I'm making myself a white tutu for it...but we're not allowed to have costumes.

the next day after the dance is HALLOWEEN!! and i still don't know what i'm going to be!  i was thinking tooth fairy, but i tried making wings before and they turned out horrible.  I want something that might include the tutu.  I also have long black and white socks from last year.

any advice would be awesome.  thanks!

So I've been wanting a shirt to wear with this black tie w/ white pinstripes that I have (used to be my mum's) but I didn't have any that were cool enough to match it.  I was digging through my brothers' old clothes, once again, and found this white pinstripe shirt that had a weird fit to it.  It's been sitting in my room, waiting to be fixed but I didn't have a sewing machine until about 3 days ago!

so, I added a bit of shaping and made the fit better, shortened the sleeves, and now it is wearable.

So, I've been wanting some checkered shorts for summer, and I see those reconstruct tees-to-pants here on crafster.  I've already made some out of a grey t-shirt that are sorta like sweats.  I finish the shorts (all hand-sewn; I don't have a machine) and mind you, I thought they were pretty cute.  I've worn the shorts a few times and last night I wanted to wear them to this event that I'm helping out with, so I do.

I'm standing there, listening to my friend explain what I'm going to be doing (and this is outside with lotsa people (the richmond night market) ) and I kinda feel like there's a draft around my er..bottom area.  Anyway, we go up the stairs to the stage (I guess I went up 2 at a time or something) and I really had to go to the bathroom so I excused myself and went.  When I got in a stall I looked at my pants and found a rip about an inch long along the butt-seam. Let's just say I was extremely grateful I had safety pins (my saviours) on me and that I'm never wearing those pants again.

one day, a few months ago, a girl who isn't in brownies anymore was looking through her closet.

suddenly, she had an idea, and a pair of scissors, needles, thread, and some felt and badges later, this is what she came up with:
