I'm sewing with Butterick pattern 4443, here's the link:http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/butterick/shop.cgi?s.item.B4443=x&TI='4443'&page=1
I'm making dress "A", which would be the one in the bottom left in that picture, the floral strapless one.
I'm making the bodice part out of black satin, and it is interfaced and such as the pattern directs. I'm at step 4 (not very far, yikes!) and I'm quite confused. I'm sewing the 2 front sides to the front center. I've scanned in the step and the picture. I guess the part that confuses me is where it talks about "clipping bodice front as necessary." I've pinned numerous times, and if I match the notches, it bulges. I've tried basting once, and it just looked mutated.
Luckily it was just basting. If I do have to clip it, how and where do they mean? I've never ran into anything like this before.
The first picture is what the center front piece looks like, the second is the step, and its illustration.
Any ideas and suggestions would be great!
