Here are 2 dresses i made last easter. I was very broke, so I used an old dress as a loose pattern and used fabric from my stash. I used scraps to make the applique to add personality.

I made a beret! I had tried to follow a pattern, but just got irritated and confused. I made up my own pattern. The pom pom is removable depending on your mood.

I took a plain black pillow, $9.99, and crocheted a "square" design to applique to the front. Hope you like it, I have been crocheting since Dec of 08 and this is a side project to the afghan I'm making.

This is another finished work by my 8 year old. She drew it while we drove around to furniture stores. Hope you enjoy. Sorry if the image isn't as crisp or clear(pencil art is hard to capture without losing detail and definition)
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Even more candlesticks! on: June 09, 2006 09:29:25 PM

Inspired by previous giant candlestick posting here are more! These are smaller because they are from a coffee table my 8 yr old found in someones trash. This time you can see the before image. I still need to find the perfect candles but I haven't had time to look.
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / My Amazing table leg candlesticks! on: June 05, 2006 02:42:02 PM
Last year when I threw out my ugly, worn dining table I saved the pedestal legs since they were the only part that was wood. My husband tried to throw them out but I insisted that the inspiration would come for them to be reincarnated. Last month I was at Bombay Co and saw these wood candle holders and it clicked- I have just what i need( they wanted $80.00 for theirs). I came home sanded, sprayed black spray paint to create the look of much darker wood(not paint) sort of coffee bean color, put felt rounds on the bottom, and topped with a oversized candle. I made 2 for either side of the window in my dining room. They are 2 1/2 feet tall and I spent a total of 10.00 to make them(candles).

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Painting acoustic ceiling tiles on: April 24, 2006 10:28:25 AM
At my Father-in-Law's radiation appointments they let patients bring home a ceiling tile to decorate. That way you have something to look at other than a plain ceiling. Any ideas on what type of paint to use? Also any ideas would be helpful( My 5 daughters are to each do an area). Thanks

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / 100% cotton pom-pom fringe on: February 24, 2006 09:21:41 AM
I was able to buy 25 yards of natural color cotton pom pom fringe for 5.00(shipping included) on ebay! Are you able to dye this and if so how. I don't want to shred or ruin it in the washing machine. Has anyone done this? Suggestions? I am going to cut one pom pom off to test but just wanted input. Thanks
