2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Opinion needed for wedding announcement on: May 15, 2007 08:54:25 AM
I'm so confused.  I guess my real question is should I send out announcements before or after the wedding.  I don't mind doing separate reception invites. They are going to be very crafty with a Vegas theme but I just don't know when to send them.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Opinion needed for wedding announcement on: May 15, 2007 07:02:10 AM
I need some help on deciding what to do for my wedding announcements.  We are getting married in Vegas in August.  Everyone that's coming is already said they were coming.  (We live in Atlanta so most of the travel plans are made.) We are going to have a reception back home sometime in September/October (no specific date yet).  Should I send out announcements now and say that reception invites will come later? Or wait until after we are married to send out the announcements?  I don't know what etiquette or protocol is for this or if it really matters.  PLEASE HELP!!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / 2007 Knitting Pattern-a-Day Calendar - Help! on: February 05, 2007 01:51:41 PM
I'm hoping some of you great knitters out there can help me. If any
of you have this calendar, I'm trying to do the Loop Stitch Floral Pin
on January 2nd. I cannot get it. I've been working on it forever and
I had a friend look at it this weekend too. Have any of your done
this one or do you know if there's a mistake in the pattern? I'm in
desperate need of some help. Any ideas, help, pointers, etc will be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kim

9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: Photography book? on: October 12, 2006 09:06:19 AM
My $.02 worth of advice from a photographer... you can learn very basic stuff from a book. Almost any entry level photography book will give you the basics. The only way to take amazing photographs is to take A LOT of pictures.  The more you take the better you get.  Even if you've been a photographer for years, not all of your pics are going to be amazing.  Think about how many photographs that magazines/books/papers/etc. go through to get just ONE picture.  Also remember that "amazing" is in the eye of the beholder.  Photography is just another art form where what you may think is amazing is just another pic to someone else and vice versa.  Hope that helps.
Happy Shooting!
