1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Tree Swap Round 3 Gallery on: June 27, 2011 06:13:58 AM
Wow, posting these photos has turned into a real drama!  My laptop is a total diva, and because of that, I just figured out that it is possible to upload photos to Craftster straight from my phone.  But then I couldn't figure out how to cut and paste the photo URLs into a post... so off to a borrowed computer I've gone.

I received this lovely package from Keyzmasta:

The wreath is definitely going to be a favorite fall decoration around here.

Here are close-ups of the smaller items.  I really love the tree made with book pages!  Isn't it so cute and clever?

Thanks so much for swapping with me, Keyzmasta!  Hope you have a great summer!  Smiley

Love those beaded leaves!

I also received, and so did my partner.

Keyzmasta and I received from each other!  I'm running from place to place, and it just got cloudy--so I'll post photos later.  Watch out for the cute cleverness she sent me!

Awesome!  My favorite purse is being used as an example in the original post!  (Rackycoo is a genius, and I still love my Scrabble purse!)

I"m sending a bit late due to an epic craft failure. I kept trying to fix it somehow and then finally decided that it was time to let it go to the great craft room in the sky.  Cheesy So, do-over time!
I don't have an epic craft failure.  It's more like an epic schedule failure.  I double-checked the pottery studio's online schedule and now it looks like they're closed for the day.  I can't go pick that last piece up on my way to the post office.  I'm going to try to sneak in, anyway.  Wish me luck!

My potentially-awesome ceramic tree piece isn't going to be finished in time for this swap--not even close.  If only I could control things going in and out of the kiln in the studio!  Oh, well.  It might be awesome, it might break... who knows?  If it turns out well, then I'll post it on Craftster.  If it doesn't, then I won't.  I'm going back to the studio to check for one more piece, see if it turned out, and then make some decisions as to what will go into the package for keyzmasta.

I brought some trees home, and while I like them, I don't want them to be the swap package.  Hoping for good results from the kiln.  If I'm not so lucky, then I have some non-ceramic ideas, as well.  I can't believe the send date is coming so soon!

I was in the pottery studio this afternoon, and I had much better luck.  Two pieces made it safely out of the kiln and looked good.  I'll have a package to send on time!  Woo hoo!
I finished the form of another piece (a third try on the items that broke).  Optimistic or unrealistic?  I guess I'll find out soon enough.  It's smaller this time, so maybe it will be sturdier.  Fingers crossed!

Whoa.  Really bad luck at the pottery studio this weekend. Piece A warped in the high fire kiln, and glaze fused it to the kiln shelf.  Piece B had pieces that broke off, either during or after bisque firing.  Piece C broke while being put into the kiln.  I have never had such bad luck with my pieces!

Fortunately, Piece D came out just fine, and I was able to fix up Piece E (which had a part break after bisque firing) and apply finishes.  I hope that one makes it safely through high firing.  Crossing my fingers!
