1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Swift Swap? on: Today at 12:10:48 PM
I am completely ashamed that I love Taylor Swift's new album 1989 and that I know all the words to "Shake It Off". Then I find this article which, for some reason, completely annoys me AND has me ROFLMAO at the same time. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/taylor-swift-trademarks-this-sick-beat-and-other-1989-phrases-20150128

I am hoping someone who isn't me wants to organize a Swift Swap, where we take lyrics from her songs and put them on "on everything from guitar straps and other accessories to removable tattoos." We could even emblazon "typewriters, walking sticks, non-medicated toiletries, Christmas stockings, "knitting implements," pot holders, lanyards, aprons, whalebone, napkin holders and the particularly ominous collection of 'whips, harness and saddlery'." Okay, maybe not the last three since I don't see it being a adults only swap...

Sounds awesome!
3  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Sweet & Simple Sachet Swap (SU CLOSED; SO Feb 2/15) on: January 27, 2015 08:55:31 AM
I'm ready to send, I just need to get to the post office, which may not happen until the end of the week.
4  Washington / Washington: West / Re: Sewing Classes Olympia/Lacey/Tacoma on: January 27, 2015 06:34:51 AM
I am also struggling to find the sewing classes nearby Lacey

What do you want to sew? ReFabulous is on the Westside of Olympia, they offer clothing classes. For quilting, there is Bayview quilting downtown. Also, Canvas Works downtown offers all kinds of classes. They carry fabric and have a bunch of machines upstairs.

I think I have the perfect fabric for each of my partners in my stash (even though I recently donated about 2/3 of my fabric to a co-worker's quilting club). I just love it when it works out like that!

Yay!  We're up to three swappers!

This is going to be such a tiny swap....   Roll Eyes

That's fine by me. I might just get started stalking now!

I was just thinking I need some sachets for my drawers and closets. I usually make dryer sachets, but this is a good excuse to make them pretty! I also have a huge stash of organic lavender, rose petals, hops, and who knows what else from making dream pillows. I will be sending in my sign up info soon!
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: "Disorderly"/Rainbow Hoop (and girl hoop) on: December 20, 2014 06:33:54 PM
It is beautiful! I'm inspired to make something for some friends who just got married.

The first one makes me miss embroidery... I made something similar once, and now this makes me want to do it again! Doodle stitching FTW!

I own that.  Grin
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Rd. 10 Gallery on: December 15, 2014 08:20:44 AM
I just love window stars! That reminds me, that I have a big package of kite paper. That might be fun to do today, while my dd is stuck home sick.
Please forgive that I haven't posted pics of my stocking that I received early last week. My week was filled with meetings and other obligations, and I went out of town for the weekend for a few Christmas parties. My stocking from Beeker is much loved though, because it fits me perfectly.

Although I've grown out of wearing Converse All Stars on a daily basis (I know own a pair of real cowgirl boots) I still own about 30 pair. Now, I have 30 1/2!

I received a ton of beautiful handmade ornaments

Marley's favorite - she says it's the two of us

I especially love the tiny little gourds. Speaking of gourds, I got my very own gourd container!

A festive hat!

Jewels

Chocolate deliciousness! Two of the cocoa reindeer and chocolate spoons have been used. The reindeer food (chex with white chocolate and powdered sugar) and a couple of candy bars have also disappeared. IN MY BELLY!!!
Finally, a group shot of the purchased items, including fun, soft, flannel, a to-go cup, gloves I can leave on while I text, a candle holder, fun straws, gift tags, paper punches, nail decals, recipe cards... all sorts of great goodies!

Thanks so much, Beeker!

Yay! I got my package from Beeker last night, too. Like, the mail lady rolled up my drive at 7:30pm! Even though I've already been munching on the treats she sent, I'm afraid I won't be able to post pics until Wednesday.
