1  im no pablo picasso, in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by elleislove on: January 06, 2007 09:44:16 PM
but today instead of sleeping all day like the original plan, i decided to break in my new watercolor-book! with the thick paper, ya know?

at first i was looking through my old muppet babies coloring book to color with my also-new crayons, when i stumbled upon a picture of skeeter with a big blank computer in front of him!
my first thought was, 'hahahah i should draw myspace on the screen.'

then suddenly the idea dawned upon me to make it 'new age' themed, inspired by two things:
MC Lars's song 'igeneration'. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=2919727
thats his space, even though 'igeneration' isnt on there hahahah.
those are the lyrics.
i was also inspired by TIME magazine awarding all of us person of the year :] in their article they mentioned you tube and such.

sooo i made this!
i used i think oil paints? magazines, scissors, and my printer.

sorry for the lame phone pictures by the way, my cameras dead. >:[

full shot. glare, sorry :/ theres a ps3, ipod, sidekick, and other misc. new inventions of our time :]

skeeters got a lot going on, google, you tube, yahoo, itunes, aim, myspace... what a busy kid!

heres the 'IGENERATION' upclose, i guess thats what i titled it hahahah. and theres my bathroom floor.

heres some of the books on his walls, a few '_____ for dummies' books, harry potter :], and a few sparknotes! books. it wasnt until after that i realized sparknotes might only be online, and not in print, but hahah oh well.

one of the books at the bottom isnt colored in yet, i think ill make it the TIME magazine 'person of the year' issue, as a tribute :]

oh! and the papers coming out of the printer say 'my report on the civil war that i downloaded off of wikipedia', which is making fun of all the stupid kids in my history class that all plagiarize off of wikipedia... -_-

hot damn, sorry this is so long! once i get started talking its hard to stop. n_n. any comments would be cute, i just did this for fun, so yah.

i make collages religiously though :]

3  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by elleislove on: April 28, 2006 06:08:29 PM
okay, this is what i have:

(excuse the stupid smile, generally stupid face pulling, and blurryness - i can't keep my hands still when taking a photo!)

i really want to do something cool with my hair, but it's so thick and so curly....it's just impossible! my hair just makes me want to cry Cry

any suggestions anyone? (cuts or styles) please? what can i do?

i know that most people and hairdressers usually dont suggest this, and usually say you should never do it,
but theyre usually people with thin straight hair who dont know the hassle of having thisck curly hair.
i say, thin it out.
no i dont mean so you have limp thin thin hair that hangs down the side of your head,
but get some of the extra hair out
i got that done to mine,
its a LOT easier to handle.
just make sure its thinned out evenly so you dont have an obvious top layer and bottom layer.
i also suggest layers.
then experiment with different hair styles,
shoulder length, choppy, straight, curly, wavy, messy, formal,
anything except for one thing: dont go to short.
bobs usually dont work out for us girls who have curly thick hair
[trust me, i know. and yes it is sad]

soo.. basically.. have fun with it, and make it so your comfortable with it, and its convienient.

sooo after helping krajackex with a chemical straightening question, i think ill post some pics to show my new curly hair.
well, its not really new,
but i do have people who have never seen me without my hair straightened,
so to them its new.

and to you guys!

here goes:

^^front. sorry bout the weerd hand thing just... i dunno. i just dont know. lol.

^^how it looks in the back.

^^sorry bout the total myspace picture, and squishy face, but you can see that i straighten my roots and bangs to help flatten it more. its MUCH curlier in the back.

its soooooo much less maitnence than waking up at six to spend an hour flat ironing, and i feel kinda free. like, 'yahh thats right i can get ready in ten minutes now! wootwoot!'

hahah... oh and sorry if the pics are too big.

5  since dr suess is my hero [img heavy?] in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by elleislove on: March 09, 2006 08:10:26 PM
yah so yesterday when surfing stencilry i found a dr suess stencil and fell in love
so i knew i must make a purse

the needle broke twice and i didnt now whether i could heat the silk screening ink onto felt without burning something and it kinda smlled like burning plastic,
so there were some hardships but i got through it and came out happy:

(me modelin it)

(doorknob is an aspiering model)

(close up of stencil)

(the lining, which is kinda hard to see)

(close up of lining, kinda hard to see sorryyy)

over all w00t.
i got all the fabric in a big 4 lb bag from the thrift store,
except for the pink felt which ive had since i was a littlun.
it was for these cloth-paper dolls i had
but i digress.

anyway, i know its simple, but im happy
and any constructive criticism and compliment is welcome : )

6  Re: **TUTORIAL** slouchy hobo bag (the tinafish way) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by elleislove on: February 01, 2006 05:40:53 PM
okeee so i did one.
ive been meaning to make one since who knows when,
and i finally did.
yay boredom!

k soo...

i modeled it.

heres it flat. sorry if you cant really see the pattern, but with flash the pattern was overexposed. my camera decided to be as lame as possible lately, i apologize.

the detail of the heart surrounded by lace i sewed on, i know its a little messy but i like it that way. neatness gets soo boring, no?

some backround: it only took me about 45 minutes because:
a) i didnt add a zipper. those bug me. im gonna use a big pink button, instead.
b) i didnt need to sew lining because i used a quilted fabric that had an outerside and a reverse pink side. the pink side is the inside of the purse.
c) i cut some corners... like i figured out my own way to attatch the strap, for example.
d) tho i didnt do these, it still took me 45 minutes because the first time i cut out the fabric i folded it in half the wrong way so it came out in the shape of the purse, but they were both connected at the bottom. if that makes sense. anyway, i started crying from frustration.
then i got driven!

7  ashley olsen waves <3 help please! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by elleislove on: October 30, 2005 05:57:47 PM
i was flipping through an old issue of elle girl and i found a page about lace and great ways to wear it, and they showed a picture of ashley olsen as an example.
[i couldnt find the exact pic, but heres one close]:

and i just fell in LOVE with her hair! that hairstyles what i really want.

does anyone know how to get waves like these? any advice is great [unless its to give up, 'i cant have that hair' Cheesy]

heres the problem: i have really curly hair. i flat iron it, and ive tried products that make naturally straight hair wavy like this, but they just make my hair curly again and it also gets all icky and sticky.

so my conclusion is that i need to use something that includes heat, i have a curling iron [thati do not know how to use and when my mom helps me it never turns out like above, it always turns out like big fake ribbons] any tips on how to make waves with the curling iron? i could also use my flat iron or something if necessary. my hairs about shoulder length maybe a little longer and i have bangs identicle to hers, and its layered.

oh, and any suggestion by tomorow [tomorows a big day for me] would be great.

sorry this was a lot to read and a lot to ask, but ANY advice ANYONE has to give at ALL is apreciated.
